Need help!!! My dr is giving me a hard time about taking the 3hr test. When I did the first GD test I was @ 140 and the cut off is 139. I'm thinking I am actually fine. I have never had it with any of my pregnancies but I am so nervous to get poked over and over. What do you guys think? Jennifer

I have never had an issue with this but I tend to think better safe than sorry, KWIM? Most likely, you are fine but my coworker's cousin just had a baby with very well controlled gest. diabetes and he ended up in the NICU for 9 days trying to kickstart his little pancreas! GD can be extremely serious for you and the baby so, just to make sure, I would go ahead with the test. Good luck!

Do it!  My # was just 147 and I had GD.  If you have it and don't catch it, you could be doing serious harm to your baby by not controlling your blood sugar levels.

The benefits of the test are too great.  GD can be serious.  If you're able to give birth, you can stand a few pokes. Happy Wink
