Happy Due Date to Me!

40 weeks ladies! I am seeing my midwife this morning and will update when I get home! Not thinking she'll be coming today, though. 

No update yet? Maybe she IS coming today!

Can't wait to hear!

How exciting. Happy Due date. If I went by my doctors due date I'd be due today. :) I cant wait to hear, so far she hasnt been on. update when you can.

Oops! Sorry Ladies! I tried to get back on here after my appointment, but was having trouble with those darn babies! 

Baby is still warm and cozy in my belly!!! Midwife said I was a loose 1cm and 70% effaced. Good thing is that my uterus is anterior now and baby is nice and low. She's thinking I have a couple/three more days to go. Hmph. 

I'm feeling SO much pressure and these awful shooting pains in my cervix. It feels like someone is poking me with a toothpick - every, step, I, take!

I've been bummed most of the day, but I guess I really can't complain since she isn't ready yet. I've been talking to her a lot and hoping she absorbs some of my positive labor vibes!

aww I am hoping the cervical check she done for you helped to move something along. Did she strip your membranes? maybe have intercourse if you can

Hint I have heard

Go for a good 30+ minute walk, have intercourse with nipple stimulation and an orgasm on both you and your partners part, lay on your back with hips elevated a bit to allow the semen to penetrate the cervix a bit (about 15 minutes), then go for another 30+ minute walk and do nipple stimulation when you get back. I have heard some stories of it working. The nipple stimulation should cause contractions.

Hope I havent over stepped by giving a small advice.

Either way she is on her way soon. Keep talking to her, rub your belly...

However, my last cervical check got things moving. My water broke 2 hours later! LOL (but I was 3cm dilated and 90% effaced)

There's pretty much nothing going on in there right now. She's moving around a bit, and I've had maybe 2 small contractions so far this morning. But that's it! 

I guess I'll just keep moving and going down my list of things to do!

My bags are fully packed so I'm actually feeling less anxious and worried now.

I had those pains in my cervix too, I think it was because it was moving and ripening up, so fingers crossed for you!! xxx

sharp stabbing pain in my cervix with every step.  Does anyone know what that is exactly?

I'm not positive, but my midwife says it sounds like it could be cervical ripening/dilation. I'm still getting those, but now along with much more pelvic pressure than before. I lost a big chunk of mucus plug yesterday and then some more this afternoon! So I know things are progressing, it's just a matter of when she's ready to get this show on the road!
