My goal is around the corner; I want to lose 3 more pounds. The first pic is me, on the far left, at my DD's baptism. I weighed 167 in this pic, and it was about 7 months ago. I wanted to lose the weigh, and slowly, and low carb was the way I went. I didn't do NO carbs, though. I avoided pasta, bread and sugary desserts. My main diet was veggies, lean meats, some fatty meats, and cheese. Occassionally I'd have a yogurt or some fruit. I also worked out to a pilates DVD 4 times a week, and ran outside for the other 3 days. I am now 140 lbs and feel great! Another thing is that I had blood tests recently returned to me that checked my sugar levels. I'm in the normal range (diabetes runs in my family). My other sister who follows low carb is also good with her blood tests. Our thinnest sister is on the dangerously high end. So she has to adjust her diet, even though she's very slim. It goes to show, you can be a little heavier, but be healthier.
Just wanted to share! Once I lose 3 more pounds, I will maintain by integrating some whole grains once or twice a week and some desserts once a week into my diet. I plan to continue pilates and running (until winter).
