Anxiety and adoption

In the past, I had to take anti-anxiety medication after dealing with a tragic family situation.  Is it true that I will not be able to adopt internationally because of this?  Or is it just current use of antianxiety meds that prevent adoption?

This is not true. Some countries are quite strict (like China) but most are NOT. Even with China, as long as you can explain it if it come s up, but it should not at all if it were in the past. Your Dr will have to sign a medical form, and he will have to answer if you are on meds now.

I don't reallyhave a primary care doctor that sees me regularly---could my OB fill out this form?

I think it likely needs to be a primary care doctor...but not sure. The form just asks about infectious diseases (TB, HIV, syphillis) and if you are currently taking any prescription mediations. It also asks about "mental disease"...... HTH!
