Tayler Shae's birth story:
On Thursday 8/19, I had my 38 week appointment. My OBGYN told me that I was still a thick 1cm and high. His exact words were, "See you next Friday. No baby anytime soon." Saturday night contractions started around 8pm. They were 15-20 minutes apart and just felt like little cramps so I tried to sleep. Woke up at 11:30pm to them coming every 2-3 minutes. They still weren't bad, but I couldn't go back to sleep. I walked around and kept going to the bathroom because the pressure made me feel like I needed to have a bowel movement. I stuck it out until Sunday morning at 4:30am when they started getting bad enough that I couldn't walk through them. My mom came over to be with my boys and DH and I left for the hospital. When we got there they were 2 minutes apart exactly and strong. I was 1 1/2cm 75% effaced. After 2 hours I was 3cm 80% effaced and 0 station. Another 2 hours and I was 6cm. I got the epidural and was feeling good. My Dr went to check me again after 3 hours and I was 8cm. When he checked me my water broke. After that I was stuck at 8cm for hours. I thought for sure that would make it go quick, but she was turned. I had to get on all 4 and push while they tried to get her to turn. It worked. After 20 minutes of pushing she was out. She was 7lbs 4oz and 19 1/2 inches and her birthday is August 22nd! They had trouble getting my epidural in (had to attempt 3 times) so I have some back pain. My placenta also didn't detach and the Dr had to force it out. PAINFUL and my stomach is tender from it. Other than that, I feel great and baby girl is doing wonderful. She has a little jaundice, but nothing serious. I'm so happy she is here and we are home.
