tambo:
You can lightly coat small pieces of banana, avocado, peaches, etc. in wheat germ

I was just reading that you can do Cheerio dust to slimy things.  I will try that for sure!  Thank you

I just found the wheat germ info. on the last website Mocha posted.  And, it did say 8-9 months is fine as long as there are no allergies.  I've never tried cheerio dust...but, what a neat idea!  Happy Smile

Hey peyton only has 2 teeth and she eats anything and everything.

Freeze an avocado and cut it in cubes its perfect but messy.

I think you would be surprised at how much she can actually eat and if she is already eating puffs and yogurt bites then she can handle other foods.

Peyton has done bananas and even small pieces of shredded turkey.

Just try them and see

I am having some baby food rebellion too. I know he is hungry, but once I start feeding him babyfood he gets so mad and cries the whole time. Then I give him his bottle and he is perfectly happy. I have tried giving finger foods and he likes to try to pick them up and put them in his mouth. But then he gives me a sour face and sticks his tongue out, like to say what am I supposed to do with this now. Or he chokes and gags on it. He likes cheerios, but still gags on those. He has always has a weak gag reflex, but he is 8.5 months old. I know he wants to eat. He gets mad when we sit at the table to eat because he wants some too. I'll have to try one of those mesh food things. Do they gets "chunks" out of it or is it mainly suck and dissolve?

Just suck and dissolve Yuck :)  I have only tried bananas.  It's pretty messy.  And you can't hand wash them as far as I can tell so I will try and put them through the wash with our clothes and see if they clean up better.

Kayla love apple slices in self feeder thingy. And ever since I started giving puffs and these organic rice rusk things she is refusing to eat her baby food too! And she was a baby that loved her food! I think she's decided that she would rather eat real food instead of mush. Stick out tongue

I like the idea of the self feeding thing! I will have to read up on it some more when I have the time.

I will definitaly have to try it then. What about putting it in the dish washer?

That would probably work, I just do laundry more often then run the dishwasher so I was going to try that first :)

You got some great ideas

wholesomebabyfood.com and Super Baby Food a book by Ruth Yaron is what I used as a guide.

I just wanted to add my youngest did not get his first tooth until 13.5 months he was on complete table food by then.  Remember they mash with their gums in the back the front teeth usually just help with the biting of things so just keep bites small and you should be good.

LOL! You are right! Come to think of it, I do laundry everyday. The dish washer runs every couple days.

Sorry you're having feeding uissues...urgh, it's hard! I LOVE those feeders...I put peeled apple chunks, pears, avocado, sweet potato and some others in there (not small, ball foods like peas or grapes). Reina LOVES to eat from them, as did both my boys. I wash by hand and hang to dry.

Just wanted to offer hope for feedings: my DS2 went thru a LONG rough patch with not eating, and it took a lot of patience and persistence, but eventually got into a groove. My boys never ate past stage 2 baby foods, though. Once they had more teeth, it was real food all the way (never sued like, Gerber Graduates). GL to you!
