Even though I'm from the UK I will NEVER forget that day myself. We had just gone been for an ice cream at a place that sold every flavour there was going - Bonds Ice Cream - umm, yummy the thought of it. Well we were driving back - ds1 was only 5 months old then and the news came on the car radio. We stopped the car immediately and listened for what must have been 1/2 hour as the events unfolded.
We then headed back home - both numb really and put the television on straight away as soon as we got in. The first thing we saw was the pictures of the first aeroplane that hit the tower. They showed it at least three times. I was stunned, I remember just standing there with ds1 in my arms in total disbelief and crying my eyes out. I could not believe what I was seeing.
That day will forever stick in my mind. We also got every newspaper there was going that day to remember it by. That's something that you will never forget - especially you guys. We know if affected you so much but it also affected us UK'ers too.
Ds1 is also 6 now - just like your twins Maureen, so I can totally relate to how you are feeling when you look at them now.
