My numbers with my DD were Beta hCG: 0.510 and PAPP-A: 0.680 and this time they are Beta hCG: 1.690 and PAPP-A: 1.760. I have a feeling I'm having a boy, do you think this means it's more likely a girl or could it be a boy because it's so opposite to my DD?

 Hi girls,

For interest sake i typed this into Google Scholar and came across quite alot of info saying that there is actually no difference in the MoM bhgc levels between boys and girls until third trimester. I hope that this is wrong though LOL as my levels were 1.870 at my 12 week u/s and we are hoping for a little girl.

Just like all gender prediction methods, it's just for fun and not to be taken too seriously until confirmed by the experts.

All the best

Saw this thread a few weeks ago...asked my OB for my numbers, and he positively refused to give them to me.  He also won't tell me my HcG numbers early in pregnancy.  He will just tell you "You're pregnant."  Well no crap.

So I called the genetics office.  The girl laughed at me but gave me the numbers.  Why are people so opposed to sharing pregnancy info with me?  Last I checked, *I* was having the baby!  Dang!

 HcG MoM was .67

PaPP-A was .51

DH is yelling BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We find out in 28 days =)  Like a period, right?

We are hoping for a girl (although we would be thrilled with a boy, too, of course) and your numbers made me feel better.  My blood was drawn at 13 weeks and both "MoM" numbers were 0.69.

I got my NT results back today. They just told me 1/1000 and 1/5000. So what does this mean?

I believe that it means out of women the same age as you, 1/1000 have a chance of a baby with chromo. defects and 1/5000. This does not mean that you are the 1.

So has anyone else found out what they're having and know their numbers? This is so interesting

I SO wish i hadn't looked at this post! I am desperate for a girl this time and alll my nub guesses were girl.

These are my results:

For ds1:

Free b-hcg ; 76.7 IU/I equivalent to 1.690 Mom

PAPP-A: 1.250 IU/I equivalent to 0.760 MoM

For this new baby (who i don't know sex!)...

Free b-hcg:97.65 IU/I equivalent to 1.328 MoM

PAPP-A:0.341 IU/I equivalent to 0.542 MoM

And I have since read on anther chat room that low PAPP A levels spell boy... somebody please tell me the truth, does this mean definitely boy? When I got my results I wasn't told anything was abnormal or low, I was told in fact that I had the lowest risk possible for someone of my age.

I have been having a major wobble today and am feeling so low... all based on these blasted papp fiigures!

I feel so stupid for writing this, as it is probably just a super hormonal day, but the want of a girl never goes away (even though I adore my ds) and I really feel that my hope has gone now.

Thanks in advance for any replies!
