Hi Dr. Jones,

Welcome to In-Gender.  My husband and I are trying to decide where to cycle next. We are interested in IVF/PGD/MS.  We are much closer to GIVF but are concerned and very confussed as how much emphasis we should put on the success rate SART scores when choosing between clinics. We are trying to decide between HRC and GIVF as of now and am very confussed by the numbers??

GIVF is much closer for our family to travel but the percentage of transfers resulting in live births is only 27.3% for my age group....that seems very low.

HRC would be more difficult for our family with travel (etc).. however,  the success rate is 43%...which is alot higher.

Also wanted to know why PGD is so much more expensive at GIVF $5,000 vs the $1,500 I paid at my local fertility clinic? Regarding the 25% discount thatwill be until December 31...Is that discount still applicable to a patient that signs up to cycle prior to that date (12/31) but doesnt have the PGD performed until after that date (say in January sometime)...would that patient still receive the discount?

Thank your for your time.

Dr. Jones

Good morning,

Thank you for your inquiry. As you know, clinic specific success rates as posted on the CDC/SART website are approximately 2 years old. I cannot give current success rates in this forum since they have not been verified by CDC/SART. I can tell you that our success rates are currently substantially higher. As you know, it is very difficult to judge the quality of a clinic based on these numbers alone as success rates are based on numerous factors including patient selection.

With respect cost, I cannot comment on HRC's cost structure. The fee that we list a global fee comprising the total PGD package. Many centers breakout cost individual procedures involved in the overall PGD process. It is important that you find out exactly what is included before arriving at a decision.

With regards to the discount, your cycle would need to be initiated prior to December 31.

Please feel free to contact us directly if you need further elaboration on answers to your questions.

Thank you for your inquiry.
