Hello girls,

I have a question about ovulation, I hope you can answer for me. I didn't have to much trouble when I conceived my son although it took a while! I had a tubal pregnancy and had my right tube removed before I had my second son. My quesion is if I feel pinching on the left side at ovulation does that meen I ovulated from the left and vice verser? I ask this because I had pain on the opposite side during my ectopic and the dr said it was normal and was referded pain?

Also I was wondering how true it is that you ovulate from the left then the next cycle the right?

This infomation will help me on my quest. I know it is still possible I could get pregnant from the ovary without the tube! I dont think thats probable as my surgery left me with alot of scarring, the last u/s I had with my son when they were seeing if he was viable they couldn't find an ovary which is in their somewhere! Thank you for all your reply's and I hope we are all pregnant soon ! Love Ya!

Most likely this is probably true but I know that I have strong O pains on both sides each time I O so I couldn't go by that.  It may definitely work for you though.

It doesn't always work this way but like anything it can happen.  Is there anyway you can go in for an ultrasound and see what side you are ovulating from that month?  That can get expensive though so I totally understand if you can't do that especially month after month.  Just a thought though.

This is impossible.  If there is no tube the egg has no where to go so your only chance of pregnancy is from the ovary with the healthy tube.  Wait I just reread your sentence and now I am confused.  Do you have one tube that has some scarring from the surgery and then no tube on the other side?  Were they ever able to find that other ovary?  And last but not least have you had an HSG recently to make sure your tube that is still there is healthy and open?

Your left tube can pick up the right egg. I've had a tubal pregnancy and lost my right tube and the next time I concieved the egg came from my right side and the left tube picked it up, and it has happened twice.

From what i've heard you normally alternate sides ovulating each month.

I think you feel pain on the side you are ovulating from, I usually can tell which side I am doing the big O on lol.

Hope I helped some.

How is this possible?  I have never heard of an egg traveling across your abdomen and be picked up by the opposite tube.  The only way for the egg to get down into the fallopian tube is by the fingers of the fallopian tube.  If the egg releases but the fingers of the fallopian tube do not work then the egg just floats around in the abdomen but has nowhere to go.  Here is a video of ovulation so you can see what happens.

Yes they found the ovary and after my op they said both my Ovary's look healthy, I have had two pg since so my tube is open, I am terified it will happen again my last babe it tolk a while to conceive him, so I figured if I knew where lil egg was coming from I would have more luck starting on that cycle were I O from my left! It is possible for the egg to go down the opposite tube I found out at a viability scan last pg. The dr said they have to check which side the yellow body/cl was on and I told him were to look and he laughed and told me about it. He did mention how it worked I really am shady  though but I think it had something to do with a chemical attraction because I remember him saying they kinda like smell their way over. Then he went on to say how amazing the human body is! He also said there was about a 10-15% chance it would be from the other side, so it must happen quiet abit.

Do you think it is worth me asking my dr for clomid or somthing?

I guess I will just wait to see how it goes, we are swaying for a girl and I think it will take me even longer to fall.

thanks for all help also!
