Question about TBM

Can anyone explain to me how TBM works when using a cut off. If after 4 hours the male sperm wake up then aren't they just as likely to get to the egg. Wouldn't you need to use a lime tampon constantly until after O to ensure that they don't wake up?

after 4 hours you use lime tampon to try and kill y sperm that didnt wake up yet.  but yes you  need to keep yoru pH low till O.  but you cant do that with tamon because of the risk of tss

Is this why you reccommend O+12??? I feel sick just thinking about how close to O it is
