New here - happy that I found you
|
|
Hello everybody!
I am 36, pregnant right now with my first son. I always wanted to have a baby girl but I didn't know how strong this feeling was until I received the news that I was pregnant with a boy.
I shared my feelings with people I thought were my friends and the reactions were so negative that I've been feeling like a monster for the past days. That made me feel I was the only woman in the world that was happy to have a boy but at the same time felt a little bit "sad" about the idea of not having a baby girl.
Our plans were to have two kids - if the first one would have been a baby girl, we would have look forward a second pregnancy totally relaxed regarding the gender. Boy or girl, it wouldn't have matter. But now that our first baby it's going to be a boy, I cannot just "try" a second time and hope for a girl.
But now I've found you and I am sooooo happy to see that this dream I have is not so unusual and that I can share this with you and collect as much information as possible in order to have, with medical help, a baby girl.
I am so happy to be here :-)

Welcome!
No, friends don't always understand the dissappointment that comes with not getting the gender you want. Everybody always thinks you should be happy for the gender you got. Well, for a lot of us on here, we are not happy with the gender we got. I wish I had known about this site before I had children, especially before I had DS#2. A lot of these ladies on here are a great support and have good information.
Glad you are here!

Thanks hcmk, thanks makelifeeasier!
I don't know what has been worst: being sad about the fact that it's a boy or the horrible things I had to hear when I shared my feelings with "friends".
Yes, there are a lot of wonderful women around here. I think I am staying here for a while ;-)
Thank you all again for the welcome words!

Congrats on your baby boy, and best of luck ttc a girl in the future!
"If left alone in labor, the body of a woman produces most easily the baby that is not interfered with...If left alone, just courage and patience are required" -Grantly Dick-Read, MD "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs" -Thomas Jefferson
