Several of my friends have suggested that I should put my children forward to do some child modeling. I just wondered if you could give my your honest opinions as to whether or not you think that I should consider this and whether or not you think my children have what it takes to be models.

Thanks for looking. Be honest. Thank you. I perhaps should add that they all have really nice teeth although they were trying to be serious for me when I had the camera !!

Yes, you have beautiful children! They all have such striking looks!

Personally, I won't do the whole child model thing.  There is not much money in it and I would hate for my child to ever feel 'rejected' on his/her looks.  I recently saw a documentry on a mother who's toddler models for adverts and magazines and TBH the mother came off looking like she was pushing her child into it and 'doing it for her own satisfaction'.  She also spent a large amount of her time driving him to shoot locations (she was a SAMH), waiting around for long periods of time and then sometimes being turned away because her child was 'not right' on the day.

I am not saying for one minute you would be anything like her!  I just saw this doco and thought there was no way I would do that to my child.   Your children are beautiful as are your photographs.   I bet you have many albums filled with photographs like that Hearts

Good luck with whatever you decide.

i agree. you have beautiful kids, but child modeling is more about the parent than anything else. it will be your responsibility to get them there and to wait with them. and what if one of your children is much more successful than the others? there would be major feelings of rejection and favoritism. IMO i wouldnt child model. but GL if you do! Happy

Beautiful kids, I agree!

I had a friend who tried this.  Lots of time in the car traveling.  Lots of photo shoots where the kids were tired, crying, etc.  I think she stopped.  It's one of those things that sounds better in your fantasies but the reality of it is harsh.  G/L!

This has been very helpful. I actually think it is not for me, I don't really fancy driving here there and everywhere, and I really don't like the idea of my children becoming too focused on how they look. At the moment my 10 year old girl is more interested in climbing trees and spends most of her life in her male cousins cast offs !! I was just curious, especially as several people have mentioned modeling for them, especially for my curly haired one year old.

Thank you for your honesty and advice.
