How dark is your room? I bought black-out blinds and it made all the difference.

She is in her room now and it's super dark in there, plus the sun isn't out at this time at all.

We had this same exact issue with my first son!!  Ugh, I remember nights of walking around, running the vacuum haha, ANYTHING to try to get him to sleep.  He wasn't upset - he just wanted to be awake!  He'd wake up for the 4am feeding and be awake and finally want to sleep again at like 6am.  so many nights I almost got in my car to see if he'd fall asleep that way.

It sucks, and I'm sorry!  It didn't last too long for him; maybe by a couple months old he'd stopped.

That is exactly the case for us, she goes back to sleep around 6 or 7 but that doesn't mean that I get to :(

She will probably be like this until she older and has a routine schedule, which in my opinion is very difficult to enforce on small babies, although other people may disagree.  I for one, have never been able to get a baby to do exactly what I what him to do!!

It is hard to be tired, I agree, but at the same time, welcome to motherhood.  It ain't always a picnic.  My best advice would be to split up shifts with your husband.  The baby won't change until she is older.

I always just pop the baby in bed and nurse and kinda snooze, it is a life-saver and baby is happy and content.  If you are bottle feeding, could you do that?  Sometimes you have to just do what WORKS, not what some book is telling you is ideal.  JMO, of course!

Good luck.

I have a little fella that wakes early at about 5 and I put him in the pram and do some excersise and we both love it.  It is a great start to the day and I dont have  to take the other kids with me.  Try and make it something that works in your favor..  I also go to bed at a resonable hour so that  i still get some much needed sleep.

Yup.

All 3 of my boys have been EARLY risers.  I hate it.

My 11 month old has been getting up lately EVERY morning at exactly 5:19 am.

I either nurse and snooze or use that time to get up and go for my run while hubby gets up with the other boys, who are usually up by 6.

Are you talking to her when you go in? When I want to try and see if DD (or when the boys were babies) would go back to sleep, I would just not say anything, no smiles...etc..sounds mean, but once you smile and chat and even make eye contact..seems to be over from that point. DH will go in her room when she only wakes for her binky and start talking/smiling...etc and she wakes right up (she JUST wanted her binky to sleep) and then he complains that she was angry and couldn't sleep. Same scenerio happens with me and she goes right back to sleep..HTH. I hate that is SOUNDS mean..but..I have never had problems with it. I ONLY do this if it is just not yet time for her to get up. Her normal wake up time is around 7-8a..so this is if it happens around 5 (or earlier).

ETA: your baby is still itty bitty..I was thinking she was a tad older. If she is crying wide awake, then do what you normally do..but if you can tell she is still sleepy, then maybe try what I suggest (if you feel comfortable with that Happy Wink )

i really dont think there is anything you can do. my ds2 has always been a early riser. Doh! since the day he was born he would wake up every single morning around 5 or 6. i hated it. i just put himto bed with me and went back to sleep. he still wakes up early around 7 even on the weekends when he doesn't go to school. she is still so small the only thing i would suggest is put her in bed with you and keep the room dark.

Thanks for all the input ladies, She actually went back to sleep after I fed her at 5:30 AM but not for long, it's like once I put her down in her bed she gets restless even though she is exhausted. I had to put her in bed with me this morning and she slept until 7:30, but kept wanting her passy in her mouth, so I didn't get much sleep still

Unfortunately she is fussy during this time and wants her passy in her mouth. I put her in bed with me but everytime it falls out, which is approximately every 2 minutes, she whines and wants it put back in, all while her eyes are closed!

It is exhausting and of course I can't get any sleep while she does this for an hour or two.

Aww man.. sometimes the pacy is a curse instead of a savior. Maybe you could try to keep her up a little later than usual and her sleeping will take up those hours... I KNOW that's almost impossible, because I can't keep Alaysha awake when i want to, but sometimes I can by taking her clothes off and that'll wake her up pretty good
