How big is considered a "lump" of concern? Anyone know? I know there are lumps all over the breast that kind of feel like cottage cheese but I have one that stands out differently to me. It's hard hard but it's tiny. Like a pop corn kernel. Probably smaller. I did have breast augmentation 3 years ago and have never noticed this lump until this last 2 months. I don't know if it's just because the implant is pushing out my tissues making it feel harder or what. I have no clue what is to be concerned with. I know that's bad. I just figured if I felt a lump I would know what a "lump" was that I should worry about. Stupid. I should know this. I didn't even want to ask but I have to.

If it is something new and it didn't go away throughout the month I would highly recommend getting it checked out.  There is never any harm in getting a lump checked.

Thanks Michaela, I will. I was trying to show dh before I posted this and it actually took me 5 minutes to even find it but it's def. still there. I'm sure(I hope) it's nothing. It's so tiny I always thought a lump would be big. If it wasn't so hard I would never had noticed it.

What kind of implants do you have?

I have teardrop/textured implants.  Got them in 1999.  In 2004 after weaning DS1, I discovered a tiny hard lump (like a bb) and went in for an ultrasound and then a biopsy.  Turns out it was a "silicone granulomata" from the implant itself.  Basically, part of the silicone "casing" of the textured implant shell had sloughed off and formed a lump in my breast.  Gross.

So maybe it's something like that?  Talk to your OB about it.

I can't wait to get my stupid, shitty implants replaced in March.  I wish I had never gotten them in the first place.  Disagree (Or at least waited until I had moved to southern California and done it in the plastic surgery capital of the world!)

I didn't get the tear drop. Just regular didn't pay attention much to the name of them, but they're silicone 550 (ml? I don't remember how they sized them but I do remember 550) and I had a lift as well. I didn't think I would have another baby but life threw my divorce at me and I wish I would've waited but they're still 100% better than what I was left with after Gastric Bypass anyday. But I do hope to have them redone someday too. I was thinking it may be something like that because it's right over the implant. When I feel my breast I can feel exactly where the implant is and it's mostly on the sides of my breast where I can feel them. And that's where this lump is. What do you mean by textured? I'm so bad with names. Hold on I'm gonna find out exactly what I had I'll be back. lol

same thing happened to my friend but her's was the size of a pea. I don't know what kind of implants she got though because she still kind of hids the fact she had it LOL

I have 3 different lumps in my right breast. Two have been identified as breast tissue left over from my breast reduction 5.5yrs ago and scar tissue from a hematoma (I know I spelt that wrong) the third I have to have a core bioposy on the 16th because it is new and they can't reach it or feel it from the outside. I found out about that one because of the other two and had to have extensive mamagrams and u/s and then cell extraction with needles.

Don't fool around with it and second guess yourself. Go get checked. Better safe than sorry.
GOOD LUCK!

OK, I can't get to my filing cabinet it's behind too many boxes but it wasn't the textured like yours it was smooth and silicone.  I wonder if having dd and having them stretched out made something like that happen but I didn't notice it until I just lost a bunch of weight which could have shifted my implants as well. Thankfully I gained back 15 of the pounds I lost(I really looked bad it was from all the stress) and they are starting to look like they use to again. Shit. I never thought of that. It did start right when I lost the weight. Ugh. Should I see a surgeon or a regular doc? I haven't been back to my surgeon. He's kind of far away but I will.

Your OB would be the best place to start, IMO.  I doubt the plastic surgeon would really be any help at this point.

My OB got me a consult with the "Breast Health Center" at our hospital.  That's where I got the U/S.  But, I was military back then, so I am not sure how it would work on the civilian side.

OK, thanks everyone for the help. And I would never have thought of that so thanks for bringing that aspect to it. I'm glad I decided to put my augmentation in there because I was really hesitant to even bring it up and atleast now I can make sure all of my risks are ruled out. Anyway, thanks again.
