Who did Acupuncture to improve their IVF/PGD cycle?

My RE really likes to include acupuncture in his IVF cycles to improve egg quality and implantation rates. Has anyone on here done it?  And which treatments did you do?

They've recommended one treatment prior to ER, two treatments on the day of ET(one right before, one immediately following), and then two more in the two weeks after ET. I'm certainly inclined to do it, but the bills are really starting to add up; the 5 acupuncture treatments they recommend will be close to $500.

I did laser accupuncture just before and after my transfer.  I have friends that swear by it (any kind) through their whole cycle!

I hear great things about acupuncture in relation to fertility and to HT treatments.  I'd, too, love to hear some personal stories!  My RE's office also has someone they recommend that comes to their office.  I'm not sure when they recommend it though.  What your doc says sounds like a good idea.  I think I'm going to go for it if it will help my chances of becoming PG w/ a healthy baby.

 If you think it will help you relax or you think it will work then I say go for it!!  If you don't think it will work or it won't relax you then I say skip it.  Accupuncture has been shown in some studies to help and in other studies it shows it doesn't make a difference.  That is why I say if you truly think it will help you then definitely go for it.  

I did acupuncture and my egg quality and numbers were good so that may have helped but I ended up w/ a BFN. Hoping to transfer 2 or 3 girls early next year for a FET. I plan to do acupuncture again. I agree, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but my RE reccomends it too and I want to do all that I can to increase my chances. GL!

I am doing acupucture for this cycle.  I didn't for the first and got a BFN.  I was also given the chinese herbs to increase my chances.  I actually like it.  I fall asleep everytime I go :).  Since I am getting closer to ER and ET, I am doing it 2X a week.  I think it is supposed to help with blood flow.  Let's see if it helps me get a BFP!

I did acupuncture.  I think it really helped me to relax throughout my cycle.

Thanks for sharing your stories everyone. I'm going to go ahead with the five teatments. I've never done it before so I think it will be a cool experience. And with all the injections I've been giving myself, I'm no longer afraid of needles, so that's a plus!!!

I did acupuncture about 12 years ago for TMJ so I'm very familiar with acupuncture itself.  The needles do not hurt one bit.  It's weird to think that they are sticking you with needles and you practically do not feel it at all but you really don't!  I used to fall asleep during the sessions too and it was totally relaxing.  So, if for nothing else, it'll help us relax during this process.

I did it. Before my cycle, during, and just before and after ET. The ET cost for two cycles was 500.00 for their onsite acupuncturist onsite. But she did it in the room and I didn't even have to get up after ET which I liked being able to stay in a horizonal position longer (for some reason I think this helped).

My other sessions (at home) were 50.00 a session, but she was not a doctor.
