I do not think anyone should drink when ttc

I think women should not drink after they do the deed.  As long is there is no chance that she is pregnant, there is no harm.  I have three beautiful and smart girls to prove it.

I'm in! ;)...need to relax before bd and sway girl at the same time...gonna make vodka and cranberry, but not that much....one glass, two at the max...just so that I can feel more "in the mood"

After my cut off I won't even touch a drink, but before then I'm sure it's totally safe....I wouldn't have even ovulated yet :)

So that's my plan ;)

Why should you stay away from beer? I saw its very acidic..

I am also going to have vodka and cranberry juice, really need to relax, its an emotional rollercoaster ttc..

But I will never drink after ttc.

 I heard that vodka was made from potatoes and potatoes are bad for ttc girl.  Has anyone else ever hear that its made from potatoes?

Vodka may be distilled from any starch/sugar-rich plant matter; most vodka today is produced from grains such as sorghum, corn, rye or wheat. Among grain vodkas, rye and wheat vodkas are generally considered superior. Some vodka is made from potatoes, molasses, soybeans, grapes, sugar beets and sometimes even byproducts of oil refining or wood pulp processing. In some Central European countries like Poland some vodka is produced by just fermenting a solution of crystal sugar and yeast. In the European Union there are talks about the standardization of vodka, and the Vodka Belt countries insist that only spirits produced from grains, potato and sugar beet molasses be allowed to be branded as "vodka", following the traditional methods of production.

 IMHO - potato vodka is the best. Most well (grain) vodkas are barely drinkable. Blech.

Either way- vodka is so processed, barely any of the original starch properties remain. I highly doubt potato vodka would have any more of a sway than wheat vodka.

Thanks so much for the info!  So basically what your saying is that there is VERY little amount of starch or wheat left in the actual vodka that it wouldn't be a factor in swaying right?

I think the vodka probably has a low pH, that's why it is the one type of drink recommended on the IG girl diet...gonna just get the regular kind I think (is there even a regular kind?) haha...I've never had vodka in the house before...not a big drinker at alll...I like wine, but I know I can't have that on the girl diet...but anyway, was gonna mix vodka and low sugar cranberry juice.

Anyone know of a good ratio for each for one glass?  Thanks!

Vodka is a “neutral spirit” and should have a pH in the 6.0–7.0 range. That is, not too acidic, not too basic. But many distillers add citric-based blenders to their vodka to take advantage of a tax loophole. It saves them money, but drops their pH down to the 4.0-4.5 range.

UV is never blended and maintains a pH of 6.0—in the same neighborhood as super-premium and luxury brands like Grey Goose, Belvedere, Stolichnaya, Skyy, Smirnoff and Ketel One.

Here’s a little chart that you might find of interest, taken right from the EPA website.

If you want to test a vodka’s acidity for yourself, just pour about an ounce of it into a few ounces of Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur. If it begins to curdle, even slightly, there’s acid in the vodka.
