Skype??

Can someone give me a tutorial on skype? I am techno-stoopid.

First you need to install it on your computer

for that you go to

http://www.skype.com/

and click download, follow the directions there click Run then Install

choose a user name, enter a password

then try to search for people you want to talk to . You can by user ID or by their last and first name

Click add to add them on your list of friends.. They will receive a message and they need to accept you before you can talk to them.

then you need a microphone and speakers . They might be incorporated into your laptop.

I need to move on the other computer where I have skype to guide you better

start installing and let me know how it goes after ( it takes very short to install like 5 min )

All I can tell you is I get calls from people called BIG BLACK C***, or BIG DADDY, and it freaks me out. I don't know how it even got setup but it's there and these freaks find me. The first time it rang I thought I was loosing mind. Then they called back and I pressed answer and they were talking to me. I said "you can hear me?" and he responded "yeah" and I hung up. Then I sat there waving my hand back in forth in front of my computer and moving my head like a dog does when they see themselves in the mirror because I thought someone put some kind of spy ware crap on my laptop and they could see and hear me until Ally explained to me it was legit. Man, that really freaked me out. It's crazy when you get calls from your computer!

So, I have installed it. I guess the main question I have to start with, is what do I pay, is it safe to pay them? Do they sell your info?

Do you have to call someone on the *real phone* to set up a session?

I mainly want to do video calls, my sister lives far away, and my parents spend their winters in a mobile in Florida. I like the idea of doing video calls to Gramma and Grampa and their cousin.

CC - if you call computer to computer, there is no fee.  I talk to friends in Spain on it weekly.  I love it!
