My baby did not get as high a fever or as long as the other boys--boys were at 103.6 and it would go down, then reappear. The baby however, did not have the recurrent fever, BUT he had a terrible cough and lots of mucus. I was worried too, and called the ped office alot, but they were so slammed with so many kids being sick, I was always assured not to worry unless his fever was 102+.
Baby is lots better, but the cough is really hanging on. Hopefully yours is over the fever part, it is so hard to see your baby burning up. I was also told not to give Motrin, only Tylenol for all the kids, which was hard because the Tylenol didn't seem to knock the fever back. But we are over the worst, it just takes WEEKS to get over the hacking, mucusy cough.
