Another inaccurate girl result (TMPOB from Nimble Diagnostics UK)

Hi Everyone This is my 1st post, I felt I had to share my story too in the hope I could prevent anyone else going through the distress of inaccurate results. I did the TMPOB test purchased through Nimble diagnostics in the UK at 14 weeks and was delighted when results came back 'girl' (I have a DS and step son) as was desperate to have a little girl. I became a little wary of the accuracy after finding this website so waited for US at 21 weeks to confirm but in mean time began to look forward to and get excited about possibility of my dreams coming true. Unfortunately it was not the case, as scans at 21 and 22 weeks showed most definitely a boy (the erection helped!) and so I am expecting another DS due early Feb 2010. I am pretty disappointed and can't stop looking at all the lucky families with girls (it seems everyone round here has them except me!). I complained to Nimble and they sent me a free retest which then came back 'boy', surprise surprise, and they have agreed to give me a full and immediate refund. They said this was very unusual as the accuracy is 95% and I've just been unlucky apparently (not convinced). So basically I'd say don't waste your money as you probably won't trust the result anyway once you've found this website. Wait for US and save yourself the possible pain of an inaccurate result. Good luck eveyone!

I am sry you were caught with this..

all those tests are wrong.. the urine one.. the blood ones.. just all a scam.. you have to take them as a game.. same with old wives tales and those claiming they can read your cards and tell you the gender of your child..

I am sorry to hear you got a incorrect result, im from Ireland and i used Nimble diagnostics in the UK and they also gave me a girl result. Had two US scans at 23 week and they said boy. I am really happy im having a boy but i done the test at 8 weeks and the last 14 weeks I was very dissapointed. I should have just waited for my scan to avoid this dissapointment. I would never use them again. I hope all goes well with your baby. The best of luck.

I did 2 intelligender tests when I was pregnant with DS3. Not sure if they're by nimble, but I'm assuming they're the same concept (urine changing the powder a colour). I did one at 10-11 weeks and the other at 15 weeks and they both came up as girl results. I was happy because I've always wanted a DD, but nope, he was all boy at his 19 week ultrasound. Don't be fooled into using these if you're hoping for a certain gender.

Congratulations! Can you please tell me - did you do anything different to sway for your DD? I am also a fellow canuck with three boys and if I can talk my husband into #4,  I really would love it to be a girl!! Seems impossible after having three boys?!

 Thanks much!

i think the tellmepinkorblutest has gotten alot better over the years. i did the one that's based out of california and they said boy for me and sure enough boy it was. i had to do a blood sample and was not require urine. i think when you test blood you have a better result then if you do a gender prediction with urine. BUT just for fun i did the urine one as well where you gotta wait for it to change color and it turned smoky dark green maeaning boy as well. now i'm pregnant again and hoping for a girl so again i will do both those test

i am sorry to report this, but mine TMPOB test was inaccurate too for me 3 weeks ago. It told me girl, but 2 ultrasounds clearly revealed its a boy. I do not trust that in this little amount of blood they demand can be embrio DNK. It can be or it can not be.  So how can i rely on. Its a scam, they only take your money. Well they can be right, but 95% is such an exaggeration, that I am terribly sad they can afford to selll such thing. I lost this money, they gave me false hope, and my gender disapointment was even worse, as i was so much hoping for a girl. I ask my good doctor, who is really an expert about this, and he told me, this tests can be wrong, because at the time (i was 12 weeks pregnant when i made a test) it is not necessarily embrio dnk in blood.

Baby Bear Boy2008, Baby Bear Boy 2010, Baby Bear Boy 2012 ... i love my boys, but is this the end of the road for me, or would i try again for a mother-daughter dream to come true?

littlebee3 thats so sad to hear it breaks my heart Sad that's really a shame cuz i'm counting down the days for my results. it did it in 09 with my son and some how they were correct. i do believe however that you can get your money back when the baby is born and you send them the crib note stating boy. or you can ask them to send you another kit and have them retest it again. i've had 4 boys already and my biggest fear with tmpob is that they'll say another boy cuz of my previous child. well at this point there's nothing i can do but take the results with a grain of salt and do a private scan next month.

pumpkins4, one good thing is that your test was already accurate one time ( i have never done it so i dont know, and didnt have any experience). So if it was right for your last boy, than in your blood DNK WAS present.  I wouldnt worry so much about the DNK presence of previous boy, because in my case there also was not present, otherwise the test would say boy... i think after some months after the birth DNK of embrio surly goes out. More delicate from my point of view is the quantity of the blood tested, as in this few little drops from finger, in my case, my boys DNK at 12 week of gestation still was not present. May be if I gave them half a liter of my blood they would found some....Grouchy

The problem is with those tests that you never know, it may be or it may not be, and this then gives you the same position like 50%50% and that doesnt help at all. I trust the most ultrasound. I would demand the money, but now i am so much in gender disappointment that i dont know.
