you really want to have the same labor I had with DS.. 1 cm for long time. they gave me epidural at 1 cm and a half since they saw my cervix was progressing in terms of effacing... then they upped the petocin dose and from there I dialated 1 cm per hour and after 6 cm they broke the water and went even faster. maybe an option for you?

 Renee I am dilated but my water hasn't broke yet so i don't know how long they are going to let me labor for. Not sure if DR will come and break mywater. So far baby is looking good, no problems.

Ok ladies the contracions are really painful and I can barely tolerade them. I was so hoping to go natural but I might not be strong enought to do it. I am in real pain and can barely breathe through them and it is making it hard for me to write anything.

You do what you need to do. No one is going to think less of you for having meds.

Maria, keep strong and the drugs are there if you need them. I have everything crossed for you hun, I will check updates in the morning, off to bed now. Good luck and come Kristofer, mummy really needs you speed up things.

I wish I was there with you. I feel so bad that you have to be alone for this..

I would say go for the epidural.. It might help your muscles and body relax and let the uterus contract and this way you will dialate faster.. at least this is how it went for me with DS. Also you will be able to rest more and be ready when you need to push.

it is ok to get the epidural.. you are still super strong just to go through it by yourself.

Dr might break the water later when you are more dialated right now at 1cm .. if he breaks and then you do not dialate you risk infection more and more c-section risk then.

come on Maria's body let her dialate so babay Kristofer can  come home...

I know it is scary but I would take the epidural. There is no way I could have went through my induction without it! It is way more painful! Once your body relaxes it will start to dilate better as well. We are all thinking of you today!

Do what you have to do to stay comfortable, especially since you are only at 1cm.  Not sure if they will give it yet...thought you had to be 3cm.  Inductions can take a while... but you won't get a medal for torturing yourself by being in pain.

 my midwife explained why inductions are soo much more painful then going into labour on your own!!!! I can't even imagine what you are going threw and alone ((Hugs)) I think all of us wish we were there helping you threw this and to be a support system !!! 

taking meds doesn't mean you are not strong!! you are doing so well hun!! you have to do what feels right for you at that time!! no regrets!! we all just want you and K to be safe and healthy and happy!!! 

Oh Maria I am sorry you are in pain! Do what you have to do to make sure you have enough stregnth to push your little one out. I have been checking on you all day and will be here tonight! Stay tough!
