a good 6 months with my dd :( I felt so bad for her.. lots of bouncing!

Danya France Joined 06-17-2009 Posts 96	11-01-2009 4:34 AM Danya I am beginning to think my little one has colic. She gets fussy most nights and screams in pain anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours. THis has been going on for the last month and a half. After looking at this poll I am scared it will last longer than 4 months. Yikes!!

I am not sure if you are breast or bottle feeding, but if you are on bottles have you tried Dr. Brown's? IMO they are the best bottles on the market (I know, tried them all in a fit of desperation). Also, have you tried 'Infacol'? or 'Colief'? and I can highly recommend 'Gripe water' added to her bottle. Maybe you have tried all these? I'm not sure but just thought I'd share.... HTH

BTW My son suffered from terrible wind/colic 2 weeks after birth until I found Dr Browns. He was able to bring his wind up more effectively by around 14 weeks and by then it seemed to ease off.

I really feel for you, Colic is not fun.

It was terrible. It wore us all down and DH and I thought we were going to get divorced. But instead we got pregnant again and I cried and cried about it.

My middle son was (and still is) a high-needs child. He cried incessantly for about 8 months. Have you read any of Dr. Sears' books? I found his philosophy encouraging and comforting. It does not last forever and there are wonderful aspects of the high-needs child's personality. I joke now that my high-needs boy is one of my favorites ; )

I didn't vote because Mason started at exactly 3 weeks and then it slowly got better. At first it was every evening for 3 hours or so of screaming and he'd get really gassy and power puke.The first few months were hell but I still remember at 8 or so months he'd have fits and I couldn't get him to sleep. To this day he is still a difficult child. I always joked that if I had him first I wouldn't have had anymore. lol. Then I had Kayla. Honestly it does get better tho. Hang in there!

My pediatrician referred to my first child as the poster boy for colic. It lasted for about 15 months. He cried almost exclusively while awake until we found baby einstein, and that only helped a little. Because I couldn't comfort my own child and I was a first time mother, I became very depressed. My pediatrician kept telling me it's a sign of intelligence. He is 7 now and a very bright, particular, sensitive and fearful child. He is excelling academically in every area and would never purposefully hurt anyone. He couldn't be more pleasant to be around. I enjoy his company more than his younger brothers, although I would never tell them that.
