FOLLICLE SIZES AT TRIGGER?

Hi ladies. I had my ultrasound and it looks as though now I have maybe 10 follicles with the biggest being 23mm. The rest are from 15 to 11. We are waiting on my estradiol levels today to see if I can trigger tonight or if I have to coast for another couple of days due to my estradiol levels being 2600 on Friday. I would like to know what everybodys follicle sizes were at trigger and estradiol levels because I am thinking that I am ready to trigger but the nurse wasnt so sure?

I think they were concerned b/c of the jump in your E2 level, not the level itself but just guessing.  There is a difference there with your follicle size so that is probably why they are waiting. My E2 level was over 3000 at trigger and I had 10 follicles measuring around 15-18mm at trigger, so packed in together size-wise.  If your levels jump again, they will have you trigger, I would think but if you figure 200-300 per mature follicle, hopefully the majority of the 10 will be mature.

The day I triggered:

- Lining was 10.22 mm
- 13 follicles were "good to go" (ie: 16mm or larger)
- 3 follicles were "small" (ie: 15mm or smaller)
- E2 was 3972, which Lori said is "great"

They ended up harvesting 30 eggs.  Of those, only 12 fertilized normally (via ICSI).

Although it appeared that I only had six follicles when I triggered, my dr. is a very talented over-achiever and managed to pull out 8 eggs.  Most of them were in the 16 - 20 size range, but two of them were closer to 12 or 13...but 7 matured and six fertilized...so hopefully you'll have a great result very soon!

For me, I found that if my lead follicles were in the low 20s, I did better.

I did worse when the lead follicles were only in the high teens at trigger.

What was your e2?

My e2 is a whole other story. Went for my blood work at 8am this morning and the results are still NOT back!!!! The doctors office have been calling the lab every hour. I spoke to the nurse and she said that if my levels came back a little on the high side we will just trigger tonight. Hopefully I will find out in the next hour.

Got the call back. My E2 is at 3100 so they want me to take one last stim shot tonight and then only lupron tomorrow and it will be trigger on Wednesday and ER on Friday.
