I feel like such a loser!

I have officially stopped breastfeeding after only three weeks. When the baby turned a week and a half I got a stomach virus. I was told by ds's pedi partner not to breastfeed him while sick. Then my dh, and two dd caught it and I was stuck taking care of them for the week in which I did not breastfeed at all. It was just easier for me to give him the bottle and most of those days he stayed with my mother to prevent him from cathcing the virus. Now, I havent been able to pump anything since then and my ds is no longer interested in feeding off my breast. I feel so bad and like such a big loser! I was so proud of myself being able to breastfeed and I paid 90.00 for a pump that I only used for a week and a half!

Why? What's wrong?

 You were given really bad advice about stopping breastfeeding while your family were all sick so try not to blame yourself for what's happened.  It may still be possible for you to bring back your milk supply if that's important to you and there's lots of info on the net about it.  You could trying to google 're-lactation' and see what comes up or contact La Leche League who will have lots of information on this.  I hope you feel better about this soon whatever happens and your baby will have benefited from having your milk for those 3 weeks of his life.
