Why can't I embed a video? (It happened again... Maureen, please help)

I've done this before, but I can't get it to work tonight. It shows up when I preview it, but disappears when I post (although there is blank space where it should be). Somehow the embed code appears to be getting stripped out. When I look at the selection source code, it's gone, but when I go to the html to edit it, it's still there.

Somehow the movie information is getting stripped out. What is going on here? 

I am going to try it and see if it works for me with your video...

Michaela, how did you even get the code for the video I tried to embed? This is really bizarre.

 It is right under the video link.   It says embedded to the right of the video.

 I don't see that at all. I just see a big empty white space. But when I previewed it before posting the video was there. I don't get it.

 Oh no sorry I went to the actual video on youtube and grabbed the code from there.  Is that what you are talking about?  Do you see the code on youtube's site next to the video in the right hand column?  That is what you need in order to paste it into the HTML code on here.  

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant you saw that on my post. Yeah, that's what I did. I copied the embed code from youtube and pasted it into the html code here. I have no clue why it isn't working.

That is strange.  I see the big white space on your post.  Hmmmmmm.

sometimes on some videos you have to view the video first before it will embed.  I don't know why

 The same thing just happened again with a different video. Updated on first post.
