luckynumberthree:
what about the kicks and the no period for 9 months just a little hard to believe

That's what I think, too.  A full-term baby rolling around in your tummy is hardly comparable to gas!

It's a crazy concept, eh? But there always seems to be multiple other rationales for the mild symptoms they have. I saw one a while back where a woman actually had twins! And actually, there was a similar case about a month ago where I live. That show is kind of like a train wreck - I don't want to be a rubber necker but I can't help myself but watch it when it's on!

Here's the thing: It's not that unusual to be pregnant and never take a positive urine test. I never got a BFP by urine test with my DD. I thought that meant something was wrong with the pregnancy, so I called my Dr., who told me, "If it's positive, it's 100%. If it's negative, it's 50/50". Since it happened to me, I've met other people that happened to.

It's not that unusual to get pregnant while on the pill. At best, it's 99% effective, and hell, I know 100 women, don't you? 1 of them is gonna get pg on the pill. I did.

It's not that unusual to get pg on the pill and keep having "periods". If you don't know you're pg and take a test and get a negative, well, you keep taking the pill. When you take the blanks, you'll bleed, and think you're having a period. Thus, you have a period all nine months because of the pill and don't really think anything.

It's not that unusual to not feel baby kicking. Because of how some women carry, they just don't feel the kicks. I know at least two women planning to be pg, hoping for the kicks, getting prenatal treatment, reading all the books, etc., who just never really felt the kicks. Weird, but not that weird.

It's not that unusual to gain weight all over or not gain much weight at all while growing a perfectly healthy unborn baby. Some women distribute their weight differently. Others are already overweight so they actually lose a bit while pregnant and look thinner.

It's not all that unusual to be pregnant when you don't really want to be and stay in denial about it a bit too long hoping it's not really real and avoiding coping with the news. I know LOTS of people in that circumstance.

I guess what's weird is not that one of those things could happen to someone, but that ALL of those things could happen to the SAME person. It's a really unlikely convergence of events that must work out for a person to not know they're pregnant until they deliver. Maybe each of the events, by themselves, isn't all that remarkable, but all of them happening to the same person at once, those odds have to be out of the world!

okay here is a tid bit ive noticed on the show in the reinactments all the actresses are generally in decent shape but the actual woman the pregnancies have happened to are either overweight or not very in shape.

Iam of average build and still I could not get away with being pregnant past four months because I have no where to hide it.

Sorry- but I must comment on this. The women are not all overweight. There were actually a few women on there who were incredibly thin. Where they hid their babies I don't know. One of the really thin women passed out on her lawn when in labor due to a heart condition, and I forget how the other one delivered, but she was ecstatic to have had a baby because she didn't think she could have kids. There was also an episode about a girl and I think she was on her college's soccer team- so obviously she was in shape. Another lady worked out everyday. I think some of the ladies on that show delivered their kids years and years ago, and have since put on some weight late in life. Sometimes they'll show a picture of the women while they were pregnant, showing how un-pregnant they looked.

My SIL found she was pregnant 3 weeks ago.  She had an US yesterday and found out she is 20wks 6 Days and It's a Girl.

WOW!!! She could have been on this show!!!  Embarrassed 20 weeks is a long time... is this her 1st bub? Maybe if she's still getting her periods and haven't felt the baby move yet, I can see how this could happen but STILL. What was her reaction?

2nd baby.  She is in COMPLETE shock!!!!!!  She thought maybe 6 or 8 weeks.  She has irregular periods and thought the kicking was gasSurprise

Omg, everytime I watch that show and hear them girls go on about not gaining weight, no morning sickness I think "lucky b*tches" lol.

Also, my mom's friend was 7 months before she knew she was pregnant with her son, she said she had periods the whole time.

My grandma didn't know with my uncle until she was around 6 months along, when she felt him turn over.  She had had a d&c done to remove something she had (I am assuming that is what is was) because she said when she went to the doctor and told him she was pregnant he told her there was no way because they had "scraped" her a few months ago as part of a medical procedure.  She told him she had felt something turn over and she said the doctor went on ahead and did a pregnancy test, came back and said "Gladys, you're pregnant as hell!"

dream

I found out I was pg with ds#1 when I was 17 weeks pg. I was bleeding like hemoraging for 4 months, I had 4 different urine tests done at pharmacy (couldn't buy over the counter hpt then) and dr's office all negative.. also had one blood test come back negative. I was on the pill, for the entire time. I LOST weight (and I was super thin back then at 120lbs) everyone commented how thin I was getting and not to loose more weight and I said I couldn't help it I couldn't stop throwing up. The only reason I found out I was pg was because I was bleeding so much threw all of my clothing every hr and throwing up so much that I thought I had uterine cancer and my roomate at the time insisted I go to the dr. I had no idea I was pg. NONE. I was SHOCKED when I found out I was and even more shocked (more like completely stunned) when I found out I was 17 weeks pg and was shown my little skeletor baby squirming on the u/s screen)

I never looked pg at all until the very very end of my pg and even then if I was wearing a baggy sweater you wouldn't have been able to tell. It was like I had gas and looked bloated. I only gained 13lbs and I was very small to begin with. After he was born I was even smaller. He weighted 7lbs 9 onces and was 21 inches long.

Now that I am fat I look pg all the time HAHAH!

also I have been watching the show since it first started (i can't help myself either I have to watch!!) and there are tons of boys born on the show. I would say it is pretty 50/50 as in real life.

I always worry that I would be pg and not know it. I have had bad bleeding in ALL my pgs (some very heavy some not but bleeding in all of them) I always feel like I have fantom baby movements, always! Everytime I feel one I think OH there is my fantom Abe(name I would want for 6th son HAHA)... etc... and I would never take a test these days because my dh had a vasectomy and I would feel foolish taking one because I am paranoid HAHA! but sometimes I think... hmmmm what if??? and then I start imagining me in the bathroom delivering my 6th son while my 8yr old calls 911!! too funny...

My stepsister just did the same exact thing!  She found out she was pregant, and guessed she made it 12 weeks without knowing.  US said she was about 20 weeks!!!  Insane!
