Amazing public schools in my area and particularly in my neighborhood.  The local private schools have difficulty competing due to lack of resources, funding and services and hiring of unlicensed teachers for low pay.

My boys go to a charter school in the county next to ours. (We live on the border) Our public schools suck. My oldest went to public till 5th grade and my youngest did kindergarten there. We Love the charter school they are in. Right now it is grades k-10 and only has 540 students.

I chose other but I probably should have chosen public.  My kids normally go to our local public school but this year only I am setting them up in cyber school.  It is public school via the internet.  I have no other info on it other then we are trying it.  I am super curious about it because I love my internet....LOL  And my kids LOVE computers.  My 2 boys are 7 and 5 (2nd grade and Kindergarten) so they are really young.  I think by the end of the school year, they will know more about computers then I do Hmm

Oh yeah, my kids school is called a charter school too!

Charter schools are elementary or secondary schools in the United States that receive public money but have been freed from some of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to other public schools in exchange for some type of accountability for producing certain results, which are set forth in each school's charter.[1]

We have a lot of good charter school here in mn.  one is focused on science another on art others on small class size.  My nephew switched to a charter school this year due to bulling at his school and he loves it!  He says the kids are nicer and really care about their education (he is 13)

Yep! Our charter school focuses on international studies. They teach chinese and spanish starting in kindergarten. I always say they are like private schools but public funded. You get accepted through a lottery process. We were so excited that both of ours got in this year!

Mine go to a small catholic school, just 30 children per year. I went to a church school when I was young too and loved it and also feel it is important that my children get a christian education and attend mass with their classmates. I guess the downside is that the facilities aren't as impressive as some of the larger local schools but I am very happy with the education my kids get there and def think I made the right choice for my kids.

I voted public, but my kids go to an alternative school that is part of our public school system and is open by lottery to anyone in the district. It's pretty different from the rest of the district, although all of our district public schools are good. I really like the open school philosophy at our school though.

The public schools in our area are okay.  My dd goes to one of the best in our district through the No Child Left Behind Act.  However, I am trying to get her into the local charter school for next year - which is an awsome school.  It goes from grade 5-12.  Dd with be in 5th next year, so I have to apply in October of this year.

We've homeschooled for 4 yrs. now and love it. Our oldest Ds went to a Lutheran school for Pre-K, K and 1st.
