For HCG, yes. MoM HCG is generally higher in girls on average than in boys.

Now, I was writing about nuchal translucency neck thickness (not HCG MoM), which is the opposite: it tends to be thicker in boys so boy are more likely to have a higher MoM than girls. Also, keep in mind that NT mm is completely different than NT MoM. MM is millimeters and MoM is multiples of the median.

Were you wondering about NT thickness MoM or just HCG MoM? Because they have also found that female fetuses have lower MoMs than males as far as NT thickness. It is a definite significant difference. The average MoM NT thickness for boys is a little about 1 MoM and for girls it is a little below 1 MoM. I can't remember the exact figures.

Re: Need MoM NT scan info please

I'm thinking this is the post you are referring to!

I can't seem to find the posts. At my 16 week appointment today I saw my MoM is .56 and I was wondering what a low number means. Does anyone think this has anything to do with gender? Does anyone know which is boy and which is girl (above 1.00 or below)? Thanks!
