IT'S A...........................BOY!! It was confirmed at my 18 week u/s yesterday and it was very very clear! Great job all you blue guessers! So excited and can't wait to meet the sweet little guy. We are planning on announcing that "it's" a HE on Christmas Eve by giving out wrapped little gingerbread men cookies with "it's a boy" written on them. Only thing that's kinda got me down is the MIL (who likes to think she's "psychic")....She is and I quote "110% sure it's a girl" and has already felt the need to go out and purchase pink ballet slippers and an entire pink wardrobe - based on her hunch alone. I don't feel disappointed it's a boy, but now feel sad that she is setting herself up for disappointment about the grandbaby (first) she thinks she's getting. I know she only did it to herself, but I just can't get it to stop bugging me...

you can see it in both, but lack of penis does not mean girl. Time will tell!

Question: In a boy (around 15 wks), can you see the penis in a sagittal (side) view or is it truly only visualized in the toilet shot?

Ok, just got back from my 15.2 wk u/s - and it really seems like I have all the luck when it comes to techs refusing to even hazard a guess She said there was a lot of cord between the legs, but I didn't think it seemed all that bad as compared to some of the unclear shots I've seen on here...but, she's the expert. Unfortunately she wouldn't even give me a great toilet shot; the best peek I got was when she was measuring the femurs. As far as I could see from the angles she was at, there was definitely NO little turtle or oblong appendage of any kind - but that was only from what I could see. As I've learned, just because you can't see "it" in a given shot doesn't mean it's not there. When she was measuring the CRL, the babes legs were kicked very high, and I could see nothing floating around the genital area (ie. where the nub was) - but again, I know that this isn't the best angle for determining gender. In a boy, can you see the penis in a sagittal view or is it truly only visualized in the toilet shot? Unfortunately, I was not given any pictures. So from what I could see on the screen and based on my constant scrutiny of pictures on here, my guess at this point is leaning girl. But what do I know? Guess I'll just have to be patient until my "entertainment" 2d/3d/4d u/s on Dec. 18! Sorry for such an unsatisfying post, but just wanted to update

Thanks for your thoughts! Those sitting positions can be tricky! I go for my next u/s (15w2d) next Weds. the 2nd, so will definitely update you all. Hopefully baby will be cooperative and showing its bits... As for preference, I always thought a girl would be awesome, but I've got myself so convinced it's a boy that I think I might even be a bit disappointed if it's not I know I'll be so happy and excited with whatever I've been blessed with! Can't wait to find out...

Ill second that!! Your last pictures a lot like mine, the babes backis arched so theres a loss of spine detail at the bottom, but if you look beneath the nub you can see a bit of what looks like spine, exactly how mine was, now the nub and that bit of spine looks parallel to me, your babys nub looks v similar to mine too.

More convincing boy nub or nub similar to that on clairelouise's little one (http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/t/122470.aspx?PageIndex=2) that looks to be all girl?! I suppose only time will tell...argh...I hate the waiting game
