WELCOME to all the newbies that are joining in on this fabulous group of women!!! I have a list below of those who are ttc & with bfp's. If I am wrong about someone or am missing something, please let me know so I will correct it. Also, please let me know how many months you have been ttc so I can add that in as many women like to know that when researching EGS. I appreciate any help.

I am waiting for a sample right now in the incubator so I can hit around an O+14 or so...it's the only reason why I am up this late.

Hello, just wondering if any ladies out there wouldn't mind sharing if they got an opposite through SU.

I'm currently gearing myself up for it in Feb...I know it's a long road ahead of me by choosing this method and I guess I'm just trying to weigh up all the info out there..

I think I'm just really really scared that I'm going down this route and am expecting it to work when I know in my heart that there is a massive chance of it not working...Just trying to keep myself and my expectations 'real'...

would be grateful for anyone to share their experiences

How important do you think timing is with SU?

Hello!

Was wondering opinions on this-If you keep ph low and do strict SU and TBM do people think timing is a really big factor?

I question my ability to do a good O+12 and am a bit nervous of doing it close to O....However I dont really want to do 2 day cut off as that's how DS was conceived..

Any views? xxx

TBM w/ Diva Cup ?

okay, planning on doing lime douche 1 hr prior to BD. we're going to BD w/ nonlatex condom & then dump sample into cup to make splime.

my ? is: do i need to do another douche or syringe prior to inserting diva cup? does it depend on what my pH is in my VJ? or does splime take care of it?

i know once cup is in that i need to check after 30 mins. & keep checking every 1/2hr for 4 hrs. not going to use Replens b/c i don't want to chance it spiking my pH.

Question about TBM

Can anyone explain to me how TBM works when using a cut off. If after 4 hours the male sperm wake up then aren't they just as likely to get to the egg. Wouldn't you need to use a lime tampon constantly until after O to ensure that they don't wake up?

Trying To Decide

I put this in ttc but wanted to post it here as well considering we are doing EGS. I have been trying to decide what to do and would appreciate to hear some opinions. We have been ttc for 7 months, going on 8 months now. I have had 2 chemical pg's out of the last 3 cycles. I did have issues getting pg with ds2...dr said that I had some hormone issues and possibly pcos. She gave me Metformin and I got pg the 1st month on that medication. My cycles have been fairly regular and I o every month.

I have my annual visit coming up on Dec. 2 . I was planning on talking with the dr about what could be going wrong at that appt rather than scheduling an infertile appt. I know that my dr does not believe in swaying so I can't tell him 100% everything. So, here are my questions:

1) How do I get him to help me without telling him everything that we're doing?

2) Should I tell him about all my supplements? The supplements that I take make my cm creamy and doesn't really allow my body to get to the EW cm...which is probably part of my hinderance.

3) Should I even ask for help at this appt since swaying will slow down how quickly we get pg? We haven't even been trying a full year...add in the swaying, it could take even longer than that.

4) I have only had 2 chemical's but how many should I have before I start raising questions?

5) I will be close to Oing at my appt or possibly Oing on that day. If we did not get pg this cycle, we were going to take a break for 1-2 cycles. Should I even say anything when I am planning on taking a short break?

Heard something new about the TBM and wondering if anyone else has heard of this?

My friend is TTC a DD and talked to her pharmacist about it...the pharmacist pretty much suggested that the most effective way was bascially the TBM but instead of warming up the sample or adding lime she was told to refrigerate the sample for 8 or more hours to basically kill of the boy swimmers and then proceed to insert into the vajjay...also timing a couple days before ovulation for added stradigy. I have not seen this mentioned in any other discussions, I know that freezing them will kill the sample but has anyone else heard of this way??

does anyoneelse feel overwhelmed???

after reading all of these tips, methods and testing ideas I have so much information in my head I don't even know where to start! Plus my husband and I were planning on TTC in january, I feel like after reading all this we are way too late to even attempt to gender sway...ahhh feeling a bit overwhelmed and frustrated

Well I've been umming and ahhing for ages on whether or not to do SU and TBM but I've decided that as I go on and on to my poor DH that I want this more than anything I've got to gve it my damndest best shot, but hey if the powers that be have other ideas then so be it!

So anyway..I've now got my microscope, test tubes and incubator has been order, along with all my supplements and neg ion stuff (still unsure about that and my DH thinks I'm mad but I dont care!)

There's only one thing..I now feel so overwhelmed about doing SU that it's still all sitting in boxes...

Anyone got any handy tips and words of advice for an SU virgin...I'd be very grateful.

I want to start in Feb so want a few months to practice..

My hubby was under the impression that sperm will be damaged if I add lime juice to it and I said it will just freeze the tails of the y sperm. Now he is all excited and wants to buy a microscope to see it. DO u think this one will work..the magnification goes up to 600X .

So, just checked my ph...af is just finishing up today (IYKWIM) and my ph is 3.6!!! So, I was wondering...if, at the time of my next attempt and my ph is low....should I do SU and skip tbm? I am doing a 4 day cutoff this time and I am thinking that maybe my ph is so low right now and has been for awhile that the lime is totally making this not happen for me. If I do that and then my ph raises, I can always douche then to bring it down and then use a lime tampon for 4 hours if needed. What do you all think? SU...4 day cut-off....diva cup....douche if need be after attempt/lime tampon....this is if my ph continues to be so low.

???SUGGESTIONS??????

how can I store sperm to use at 24-48 hrs later?

so now I have seen shipping containers that say you can keep sperm in there for 48 hrs (with only cold packs) and i saw on here that a pharmacist said to put sample in fridge to kill off males,

if anyone knows how to do this, please let me know.

I have attempts coming up this week and one day I know dh will be gone so I want extra sperm to use in case I O at night (like always) and I keep missing it cause he works at night & we only get in morning attempts.

what do I have to add? how much, what temp, store in what, etc. should I buy something?

feel free to send me a link or exact directions. thank you so much. I am stressing here! I only have 2 days to be ready to store it.

So, our experiment was awesome last night. Did everything in the order and could actually see the faster sperm in microscope. Worked well. I tested DH ph before we started anything and it was a 7.49, I tested the bottom half ( hopefully the XX's) after we left it in the incubator for an hour and pulled the eggwhite and fastest swimmers out of the top. The ph then was 8.22. What happen? heat? eggwhite?

TBM ladies...can you help?

I'm anxious that the sperm might be damaged when mixing it with the lime. Do you have to swirl it together slowly or is there a better method? Then when using the syringe is it just a case of being slow and careful when sucking it up and releasing it into the vj? I'm in two minds whether to use a syringe or diva cup!

After inserting the splime, are you propping hips and keeping it in there for the 4 hours then inserting lime tampon or are you giving the girl sperm time to wake up and then doing jump and dump?

I have a bladder infection after swaying!

Hey ladies,

This was my first month swaying- we used drops of lime in a diva cup and I left the cup of splime in me overnight. I also used a little replens 2x (two days apart). After the night with the diva cup inside, I started feeling burning when I peed. Then I noticed some redness in my urine when I wiped and a need to pee a lot. Turns out I have a bladder infection. I've never had one before so I think something I did must have caused it. Has anyone else experienced this??? Now I"m too scared to use the lime again.

Hi ladies,

I'm a little confused about how to ttc a girl with my Diva Cup. I thought I'd just follow the TBM instructions but now I'm not so sure. Do I do a lime douche an hour before? Do I use straight lime to get the sperm to a ph of 4.5 (OR IS IT 7???) Do I take the cup out and retest ph every 30 mins like in TBM? (That seems tricky) How long can I leave the Diva Cup inside? Also, I was reading posts from 2007 that say vinegar is better than lime...is that still the case?
