We had 6 embroys when it was all said and done. FIVE were girls, I couldnt believe it. 1 abnormal boy and 2 abnormal girls. One of the healthy girls stopped growing so we transferred both normal girls and have a singleton. She is 9 months old.

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

Megmal, I can only tell you about what happened to me. For me 5 probes day 3 it was the best choice. As I am a high reponder to stimulating drugs, I had all the embryos frozen before testing and transfering them. We decided to transfer 2 hatching blasts and frozen again the remaining ones (after testing them). My doctor said that we are going to be able to use them in the future if we want, even if they have been tested and "refrozen". So I think that the "frozen issue" of day 5 CGH is no longer a big deal. My doctor is doing a lot of day 5 CGH. What I would not recommend is day 3 CGH. I have done it, and only had results of "crazy" embryos. My second doctor was very clear stating that day 3 CGH is the worse choice. If I have already done a 5 probes FISH, I would maybe go for sure for a day 5 CGH. It depends on your history, on results with FISH and on you doctor. For me the doctor makes THE huge difference, since every patient is unique. I tried 3 doctors with many faillures (no problems at all to get pregnant), and "found my hapiness" only with the third one. If you need more help or information, I am here!

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

Any advice on cgh vs 5 probe? Thanks and congrats! It seems then that most people will have 2 embryos transferred... Kinda wish we'd gone for HT for our second child - then I could have had 2 transferred and only ended up with 3 kids max altogether. But like a lot of people here, we gave good old praying and swaying (not hardcore tho) a shot and it didn't work.

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

Transfer of 2 hatching blasts. May I ask you which clinic(s) and doctor(s) you went to? May I also ask, to those who didn't mention it, how many embryos you had transferred? Because not that I don't find twins to be so adorable, but I just cannot see myself with 4 kids (3 would already be a stretch)... so we would probably transfer only one embryo.

Thanks! :)

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

We had our girl with plain IVF/PGD. Didn't seem like great odds to justify the cost so we said no, not that we ever got to use them.
Honestly, look into foods that sway for gender for hubby, mine took maca root powder for the month prior to my cycle and we got 5 boys and only 1 girl. I don't think that was a coincidence. Our first cycle was pretty much a 50/50 split. This cycle loading hubby up on all boy foods for the next 6 months.

Re: IVF/PGD Success stories WITHOUT Microsort?

I did plain PGD and I got pregnant on first try. :-D
