Sorry I have not been able to get on in awhile.

I am a one hit wonder. I cycled at the Fertility Institute in New Orleans. My RE was Dr. Peter Lu. Well actually its located in Metairie about 6 miles from New Orleans and about 5 minutes from my house.

My experience was pretty good. I mean it worked, I got pregnant and am happy. There were times I kind of felt that the clinic wasn't as used to doing PGD cycles. They only do them I think every 3 months so all the PGD patients cycle at the same time. They bring in a embryologist to do the PGD and send off the cell for testing. I was really concerned my entire cycle that I wasnt responding well. At the time I was only 31. I think I had been on birth control too long before starting the cycle, about 2 months before. But Dr. Lu assured me that my cycle was looking good. The nurse was always telling me I was doing great.

I always thought I was doing great if I were not doing PGD. I kept asking the nurse, are you sure things are looking good, I might lose 1/2 these eggs to being the wrong gender and abnormalities and they kept saying yes. I had 10 follicles at ER and only 7 were looking good. Only 6 fertilized. I was freaked. Out of the 6 5 were XX. 3 XX were normal the rest abnormal. One stopped growing. I transferred my only 2 remaining normal XX embryos. I had nothing to freeze which had at the time been a major concern of mine. I had hoped to have at least 1 or 2 to freeze.

Thank you so much for sharing the photos. She is beautiful and what a blessing to have it all work out on the first try. I second the questions of the PP.

What do you think was the reason for your success? Strict adherence to protocols? Good doctors? Did you do acupuncture? Any advice would be HUGELY appreciated. I am starting my first cycle right now.

Hi Bee Shine,Your daughter is adorable. And congratulations !!

Would you mind giving all athe infor whatever you have about pgd/ivf. Looks like yours is first attempt. Where did u go for the treament ? how much u pay for it ?who is ur dr. ? how is he ? what is ur exp ? Please share with me. I really appreciate your response.

thanks everyone. we are over the moon that she is finally here. We also just look at her and feel so lucky to have her. Im so thankful this whole process worked for us and I am grateful to be a ohw. I wish it could happen for everyone.
