Hi Ladies - thank you for your wonderful suggestions, I've never had to try self inducing before, can't believe I'm still preggers! I think today I am going to try the fresh pineapple and a walk to start with. I'm now 4 days over - so still not very overdue but it is just the christmas thing that has me worried. It is Saturday here in NZ and holidays have started for most people, hubby has fnished up at work for the year now so that is one good thing, only 3 sleeps to christmas for us!

Someone told me to eat or drink things with ginger, and of course taking castor oil is said to start labor.

Hiya,

Yes.... you sooooo need this baby to come before Xmas! My 1st was born Xmas Day & not only was there limited staff (so I wasn't allowed an epidural... pigs!!) but we always seem to forget it is his special day because we are so busy with the Christmas events etc etc.......obviously he gets birthday presents but it's just not the same as my other childrens birthdays

What worked for me was a whole fresh pineapple & a microwave tandoori curry..... within 1/2 an hour I was in labour!

Oh I feel for you..it is so hard when these little babies don't come on time. I was overdue with DS#4. Try walking, squating,sex even though its uncomfortable, fresh pineapple juice or curries...I hope it comes soon for you...what a beautiful Xmas present you are getting..all the best xo

Keep walking and try stimulating your nipples as if a baby is nursing them. Visualize stuff that flows down and out: water, your little baby etc. GL!

I went for a walk on my due date, dtd last night but otherwise haven't tried anything else. I used EPO caps for three nights a couple of weeks ago and have a few left, could try those again I suppose.

oh (((hugs))) the waiting can be so hard!! hang in there! have you tried any thing to self induce? i know that with DS the night before he was born (before labor started) he was wiggling more than he ever had. that is the sign i will be watching for this time with mine

Arggh I am only 3 days over my due date but I just wish this baby would hurry up! I don't want to be pregnant christmas day or worse still giving birth christmas day which is only 4 days away!! I had it all planned in my head that this baby would be either early or on time and everything would be all nice and settled down for christmas day, but no....My second baby was 8 days early so I made the silly assumption that this one would be early too. Baby is still moving lots too - with my last two pregnancies both the boys movements slowed down heaps a couple of days before birth, to the point I thought something was wrong and then they were born. Did everyone elses babies movements slow down lots before birth.

How do Mums cope who go 10 days plus overdue; I have no idea!
