saxophonic, the same thing happened to me. i was pregnant with my 5th baby. i went in at 20 weeks and my cervix was slightly short. 2 weeks later i gave birth. they said it was some kind of viral infection that had somehow made it through the cervix and had infected the aminonic fluid, my baby was fine but the fluid was bad and infected in order to save me my body just kinda dumped all the fluid and the baby came out with it. my daughter lived for 2 hours but she only weighed 15ounces and her eyes were still fused.

it changes your entire life. hugs, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. good news is that my 6th daughter is alive and well. shes 9 months old now and such a blessing.

May I ask what happened to cause you to lose him at that point in your pregnancy?

We're not 100% sure what happened. The only thing wrong that they could find was the remains of a viral infection in the placenta. They tested me, him, and the placenta for all of the big known and common viruses, but it wasn't any of those. It was just a fluke accident that I stumbled across some unknown virus that I didn't have an immunity to and it managed to get through the placenta to the baby. It was rather devastating to go through labor and delivery and not get to come home with a baby. It definitely changed my views and thoughts on pregnancy. I had never even had a minor complication in any of my pregnancies and that happened. None of us ever imagined that.

That must have been really difficult to deal with! At least you know it was something that is unlikely to happen again though! I hope everything goes smoothly for you this time!

There is no Due in October board yet, so I may join you girls? I also am expecting number 4, I have one son from a previous relationship who is already 10 and a toddler boy and girl. Hoping for a little girl to complete our family and a baby sister for our daughter. I am only 8 weeks today and havent even seen a heartbeat yet, so fingers crossed.

Welcome to the Due in September Club, playg1rl84! I think you're right...there seem to be quite a few of us in the same situation! Are you going to find out if you're having a boy or a girl soon, or are you waiting until the birth?
