4-5cm dilated 70% effaced, was stripped and have been having start and stop contractions all day. very frustrating

Went to the Dr today. She did another sweep. I'm 70% effaced 3+ dialated, and "VERY stretchy".Also baby is SUPER low. I told my Dr that DH was worried about breaking my water. She said with as low as the baby is she'd worry more about hitting her head. LOL!

She planned on trying to induce me on Monday but I guess the hospital is full of pregnant ladies who want their baby on 1/10/11 or 1/11/11. So now their not gonna induce me until Thursday at 8:00pm. Which totally SUCKS!! I'm so tempted to try castor oil. I thought waiting 4 days was long enough but waiting a whole week seems unbearable. I'm going on a long walk tonight with my friend. Maybe I'll do an enema. I'm just so scared that the castor oil will make me so sick.

Hope you ladies are getting closer and we'll be seeing more babies :)

Hey Harvey...we are due the same day....i dont have my 38 week app till next wed...when ill be 39 2 days after!!! oh the joys! They dont do Internals over here unless really need to so havent got a clue whats going on with me. Getting very inpatient now, especially when there is lots of Jan mums already got there Beautiful Babies!! ARRRR

Today I had my 38 week appointment. I'm still 1cm, but now I'm 50% effaced which I was happy to hear. I'm battling a nasty cold so it was nice to hear good news. Good Luck to all - hope we are soon holding our little ones.

I had my last doctors appt today. Still no change from last week. 1cm dilated and 25% effaced. Baby has dropped but im not dilating! I was hoping she would come on her own, but looks like the c-section date will be her birthday. Just 5 more days!!! It cant come soon enough!!!!!!!!!

Hey ladies just got back from my appt. I am 100% effaced so I am excited about that. I am getting menstrual like cramps since last night but my BP is up and they are Checking the make sure that I am not getting preclamsia sorry can't spell

Crystal- Smart! My sister had to induce two weeks early, because the start up company she was working for was going under fast! So if she induced early like that then insurance would cover it. She did and all went well! Good luck!!!

My ticker is off by a few days. I just figured it was close enough LOL.I'm actually 37 weeks 4 days. My Dr. is doing it because our insurance changes in Janurary. If we have the baby in Dec. it saves us $3500. I'm going to be trying to run and trying every other natural induction I can think of. :)

Sounds like your all making progress. Woohoo!

They'll do a sweep at 37 weeks? Drs appt today... dilated to 1 now, and more effaced, like 50%. Taking EPO and RRL tea. Who knows if it's helping haha. Baby is so freakin low! Have been bouncing on my ball today too. Next appt Jan 3. Growth ultrasound!

i am still 1 cm but now i am 80% effaced. i have been reading that effacement means more than dilation, and that the more effaced you are the closer you are to labor, and the faster you'll dilate. i am almost completely effaced so... i sure hope it means something good!!

i think the rasp. red leaf tea is working

My cervix was ripe, thin and 1 cm open 10 days ago. My midwife said that this doesnt mean anything since I am a 3rd time mum - baby could arrive anytime or I could go overdue by 10 days. Since I went long overdue with both boys, I try not to hold out much hope of having her anytime soon, although I must say that I feel strange .... I am 38 weeks tomorrow....

The same midwife delivered ds number 2 and she said that the baby is in a better position than ds was a week after his due date, so I am hoping for an easier, quicker labour (first son took 24 hours, 2nd 12 hours with a really hard pushing stage since ds head was really far up...) This gives me hope even if I go overdue.

Great thread! two weeks ago at my 34 week check-up i was 1 cm and 50% effaced. i go back this monday for my 36 week check-up and REALLY hoping to see more dilation/effacement. i started my red raspberry leaf tea a week ago, 4 bags a day, and i used it with both my boys too. i definitely think it helps make labor go smoother (tones the uterus) but don't think it helped them come any earlier. hoping it does this time:) but that is all i am doing besides increased sex, which is hard, because i DON"T WANT SEX AT ALL!! lol, poor DH. i'm always telling him "hurry, make it quick", hahahahaha!!!

i cannot believe that we are already here! i officially have only 3 and a half weeks left til my inducement, if she decides to wait that long. hoping not. but if she does, thats ok too.

i had a scare yesterday, i took a unisom to sleep through all my pain (hip/sciatica and pubic symphosis pain) and i have taken it randemly throughout this pg, but THIS time she was completely lifeless for over 10 hours. NO movement from about 7pm to 7am the next morning, which is not like her at ALL. i freaked out, crying, thinking something was wrong. i could feel her in my belly but when i poked/prodded her she wouldn't even budge. usually she is so responsive. anyway, i went in for an NST and all was fine. i think the unisom made her very sleepy... so i am not ever taking it again. i will just suffer the pain and no sleep because it just isn't worth it worrying over my little girl was horrible. i do think though that she has grown alot in the past week. anyone else feeling their babies in a growth spurt?

37 weeks: 1-2cm dilated and 60% effaced :)
