It took us 2 years to conceive the 2nd. I think it's fine, there are pros and cons to each way (close together or far apart). I know my DS is very excited to become a big brother and he wants to help me with everything, except he says he's not changing any diapers, lol. I would say don't worry about it, it that's when you guys want to have the 2nd one, then that's fine.
