This part is so hard! I never went into labor on my own either. I would just wait until they get bad enough where you are in pain. When I took a birthing class with DS#1, they said the dr. will be able to tell if it is real labor by the way you are able to talk through the contractions or not. Google and see what tips you can find to make you feel better.

I would give it a few more hours. I am having some bad contractions now too b/c DH and I DTD. Usually it takes a few hours or even lasts all night. Very annoying, but a good sign that we are near the end!

Yes, she checked my cervix today and I was 2cm dilated. I was thinking the same thing. If that's the case, I wonder how long it would take for them to settle down?

That's what I thought - yes they checked and did the strep swab (or whatever it's called). I was 2cm dilated but still not effaced. I don't know what to think.

Wow Renee, it would be so awsome to have those babies together, all 3 of them..... Did they check your cervix today and maybe you are having the contractions as a result of that?

Ok, here's the story: the doctor wanted to reserve a spot for me for tomorrow in case we decided to go ahead and deliver. But she said that since I'm having a biophysical profile on Friday that she was ok with waiting until Monday morning. So that's when it will be...unless...I'm kind of wondering if I'm in labor right now. I'm having contractions really close together, but they are not regular and don't hurt. I'd be able to tell if I were in labor, right?

How long after a c section can you eat again anyway

I cant' remember...but it was a looooong time! (felt like it)

I think they say you have to pass gas first? lol (I'm pretty sure that's right)

I couldn't eat anything for the first 12 hours after my section. Now I'm on a strict clear liquid diet until I start passing gas (I hate how that sounds) which should be soon, it's usually the day or so after. The more you move around the quicker it happens. Then I'll be able to have regular food again, hopefully by breakfast because I'm starving! I wasn't able to eat or drink after 12am Tuesday morning but I had dinner at 6pm Monday night, so by the time I was hungry again it was too late to eat I just had vegetable broth and orange Jell-O for dinner...yuck! I think that has to be the worst part about c-sections. I could use a big juicy steak right now!

Well, I insisted they give me water in recovery w/in an hour after cestion. I kept saying I won't throw up, I promise. I had sip though, nurse made me. I had my c-section at 3pm and ate by 7-8 pm...clear liquids, passed gass and could eat by breakfast. I forgot about the clear liquids...I had had that till I gas.

I hate how it sounds too, lol

Really, every place is gonna be a bit different, not much different considering we all in Texas... I might add...the clear diet did indeed SUCK!!!!! I don't think I ate much of it, it sucked so bad. I also couldn't eat or drink anything past 7 am and did not wake up just to eat..... so I had not ate since dinner time the night before. I was starving too..I mean I'm pregnant people... I'll tell the truth..I drank coffee that morning...just one cup. lol
