I have a HUGE soft spot for mothers of large families bc I am one who comes from 8. I loved seeing my moms eyes light up when she got a POSITIVE comment for it...then she would give us all hugs and tell us how grateful she was for us and how special we were I am so glad to hear that there are still some genuine people in the world! I think you are a SUPERMOM...you should be so proud!

I'm so proud!

I was walking around the local supermarket the other day with my four youngest children and this elderly man stopped me in my tracks... He asked if he could look at my DS5 and then went on to say how very, very blessed I am and how nice it is to see such a large family. I kind of nervously laughed and said these were just the four youngest and I actually had seven children but the older three were currently at school. Normally this is where things go wrong when people stop me to talk - it seems four is considered VERY large but quite cute, seven is overkill! Anyway, when I told him I had seven he broke out in this massive grin and gave me a big hug and went on to tell me how jealous he is, how he was an only child and always swore he'd have a big family but they were only able to have two in the end... He just kept saying how blessed I truly am, how wonderful and well behaved my children were and how polite and what a fantastic mum I must be.

Then his wife came over and was asking if they were boys or girls, so I told them we have five boys and two girls and when he heard I had five boys I thought he was going to have a fit - apparently I am the most blessed person he has ever met. I'm a very lucky lady to not only have so many children but to have five boys and two girls especially when they're so well behaved and polite....

It just really made my day. I told him so too when he finally tore himself away to continue his shopping. I was just really shocked by how special he thought my family was - I've never encountered that before. I mean, I get a lot of compliments and normally the worst comments I get are "don't you know what causes that" and "how on earth do you cope"... So I'm quite lucky in that respect... But he just seemed so genuine and so pleased for me... I actually cried when I turned away to continue shopping, I was so shocked! LOL

Anyway, I just wanted to share. It seems like so many people post about the negative comments they get, I thought I'd share a positive story!
