Ok so say you just hired a housekeeper (cost is not an issue) what would you have them do and how often??

2x per week-

bathrooms, floors

1x per week--

change all bedding, dust

What else is there???

When i met my DH he would only wear his shirts and pants once and then want them washed. I grew up wearing my pants for a week at least and shirts about 2-3 times b/f washing. I guess you have to consider in that i grew up and we did live in Alaska. Here on the east coast, in the summer we wash our clothes more. So i'm wondering what you all do:) [Poll]

Ok...lets not think I mean we have to look pretty & be treated the same as the women in the movies lol. I must say that my home is NOT like the home of a step-ford wife.......but....I wish it was! Is it even possible? I wish I could have my home looking spotless all the time & people could come & pop in & it would look clean all the time. I mean really clean....like no dust, all the windows have no little hand prints on them...lol..the beds would look neat, I would always have some freshly baked cookies lol.Is there anyone that achieves this look...& how! I know many would think omg...who cares there is more to life..but I secretly wish I could have a step-ford looking home!

What method do you use to keep housework and/or kids' chores organized? Index cards, lists, etc.?

My kids are at grandparents' this week, and I am determined to get the house organized while they're gone! What system do you use to organize housework and chores for yourself and your kids? I am prone to get "perfection freeze" where I spend hours trying to perfect a system then never actually use it. (Which is why I am posting this instead of doign something right now.)

How do i get rid of it.. Without leaving the hoover on 24/7.

I'm hoovering three times a week. We dont have any pets in the house. - Which i guess helps.

Theres only three people living in the house. We have wooden floors but all of them have BIG rugs on.

I hoover three times a week and wipe the wood around once a week or every two weeks depending.

Its driving me nuts ! What else can i do?

We have a lot of iron in our water, and even though we filter it, it is still staining things. The bath tub and sinks have a little, but the toilet is the worst! I guess because the water just sits there? Anyway, there is starting to be a ring around the bowl ...I have tried toilet bowl cleaner with bleach, but it isn't helping.

Any ideas?

Hey ladies...I've never posted in this forum before, but was thinking I might get some advice. I have fruit flies or gnats in my house...I had some rather ripe bananas on the fridge, so I 'm guessing that's what attracted them, so I got rid of those, cleaned up there and they are still flying around being a nuisance to me!!! How do i get rid of them? By the way, I'm in the fall season and I'm sure bugs are just more prevalant right now, but still annoying!

Is yellow a "white" or a "color" (laundry)?

Because dh keeps ruining all our yellow clothing by putting them in with colors! I say yellow is a "white" as it will stain like a true white will if colors bleed. DH says that yellows turn true whites yellow...over time (I think he was just trying to think of a good reason why - for the 3,497,564th time he chose to throw a yellow in the color wash and ruined the 798,324th article of clothing....but I could be wrong.)

I know, I know...I should just be happy the man does laundry but SHEESH!

What the heck am I doing wrong here?

I can't keep my panties from unraveling! Do you know how annoying that is? Every single pair just turns to shit. I just bought 3 pairs for like 25$ and all 3 are already unraveling. Even my DD's underwear are! Is it because I'm washing them with other clothes? Do I seriously need to wash my underwear by themselves? That's a whole new load on top of the several I already do in a short period. SIGH. Helpppp.

Hi ladies, Let's go straight to the point: why isn't my laundry coming out WHITE! My son goes to camp and comes back so dirty..I wash his clothes every night and they come out with lot's os ftain still. The white is not white, and the colors are still staines as well. I really don't now what to di. I wash both with hot water, I use Dreft and switched to Oxyclean mixed with Shout, nothing works. Please tell me what you do to have a nice clean and WHITE laundry! Thank you!!!!!!!

so my city decided they are going to seal the streets in our neighborhood. today was our streets turn. they left a notice telling us what streets to park our cars on if we were going to need to leave our house during 6:30 am and 4:30 pm. so I get up this morning, move my truck before they blocked the street off. well, wouldn't you know, right before it was time to leave for school, they had started blacktopping the one side of the street already. and of course we had to walk across the street to get to the street where my truck was parked. we walked thru one strip of blacktop. LOL, the workers watched us and had to fix it with some hand sweeper thing to get rid of our shoe prints. anyway, DS2s new shoes got aspault on his shoes going up the sides, but fortunately not on the fabric part.

soooo.....any great tips on how to get this off? DS1 is laughing his butt off because I just took him tonight to get new shoes so it doesn't matter if his old ones are crap now.

I was happy to see we weren't the only ones to walk thru it. down the street there are 4 rows of kids shoeprints thru the whole street! and a car backed out of his driveway and right back in, so there's big ol' tire marks where he lives!

silly question but my DH emptyed the kitchen trash bin tonight (full of nappies food ect ect) and DID'NT WASH HIS HANDS AFTER!!! he thinks im crazy but i think its important, do you wash your hands after you empty the trash? isnt it normal to do so? i just need to prove him wrong!!

aim? hehe Since i posted my bathroom poll...now i'm wondering if you all got lucky...or taught...or are still teaching ALL the men of the house good aiming into the toilet;p LOL I was blessed with a DH who has perfect aim...and my little boys are right on target too...from all the practice of watering the rocks in AK=) ONLY once did my boys (the middle 2) pretend to be a sprinkler and the WHOLE bathroom was soaked. I THINK this is they day they learned their lesson, when i made them clean the bathroom....ceiling to floor=o LOL [Poll]

Cleaning a rear facing carseat.

Ok, not sure if I will get responses in enough time, but I will use it for next time if not. I am in the process of taking apart/cleaning a graco rear facing carseat that came with a stroller. I just bought it new this year as my other one was expired(do they really expire if you were never in any kind of accident-well couldn't take baby out of nicu without new one). Anyway, the instructions say I can't get the straps wet, only spot clean. The instructions say that water will weaken the straps making them not safe and that if I prefer, I can just buy new straps. For me, that is not a practical option as I will only be able to use this carseat for 5 more months tops and we are not having anymore. As we all know, babies spit up/drool on these straps and I really need to give them a good clean not just spot clean(am I being weird if so disregard). They have some spots on them that I can't seem to get off with just a wet rag and mild soap. Do you really think if I clean them more forcefully than spot clean it will really harm them? Does anyone have any tricks to getting spots off the straps without using upholstery cleaner-my baby will sometimes turn her head and "eat" them, or should I just live with the spots and not worry about it? Thanks for any input

I have PCOS and sweat very bad, even with multiple applications of deorderant. My two favorite maternity shirts I can't get the armit / body odor smell out...I've tried soaking in vinegar...any advice anyone? Thanks
