Has anyone taken TMPOB in the last 6 months and had a wrong result? All the posts of wrong results I look at seem to be from 2008 and earlier. Just wondering if they have "changed"?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I just took the Pink or Blue test last week. I was 10 weeks pregnant the time I took the test. The results came back as a girl. We are both really excited, but want to wait to purchase anything for the baby until the resutls are confirmed by an ultrasound, especially after hearing how many of you either had inconclusive or inaccurate results. Of those of you that did have the inaccurate results, were you able to get a refund? If so, how?

Hi Everyone This is my 1st post, I felt I had to share my story too in the hope I could prevent anyone else going through the distress of inaccurate results. I did the TMPOB test purchased through Nimble diagnostics in the UK at 14 weeks and was delighted when results came back 'girl' (I have a DS and step son) as was desperate to have a little girl. I became a little wary of the accuracy after finding this website so waited for US at 21 weeks to confirm but in mean time began to look forward to and get excited about possibility of my dreams coming true. Unfortunately it was not the case, as scans at 21 and 22 weeks showed most definitely a boy (the erection helped!) and so I am expecting another DS due early Feb 2010. I am pretty disappointed and can't stop looking at all the lucky families with girls (it seems everyone round here has them except me!). I complained to Nimble and they sent me a free retest which then came back 'boy', surprise surprise, and they have agreed to give me a full and immediate refund. They said this was very unusual as the accuracy is 95% and I've just been unlucky apparently (not convinced). So basically I'd say don't waste your money as you probably won't trust the result anyway once you've found this website. Wait for US and save yourself the possible pain of an inaccurate result. Good luck eveyone!

Hi All,

Just to let you know that I have just had a 16 week scan and the tech confirmed 98% that it is a GIRL. TMPOB result at 10 weeks was BOY and I was miserable up until now!!! I even had to have councelling I was sooo upset. After two boys I desperately wanted a girl...and did feel that this pregnancy was slightly different. BUT of course I went and did the test (depsite my friend showing me all these threads) and thought it just can't get it wrong. But looks like it is wrong and all the wonderful people in here who say it is a scam are right. Although I will be happier when it is officially confirmed at the 20 week scan-we really looked hard. At 12 weeks there was a very flat nub and 16 weeks three lines!! Two sonographers said GIRL.

I am soooo happy but was sooo misrable for awhile because of this nasty test. I hope they get rid of it soon-like anything it has a 50/50 chance of being correct. I can't wait to get my money back to spend it all on PINK!!!

Hello I have recently purchased and used a dna gender kit from a place in sydney Australia called Nimble Diagnostics....They must be a part of pink or blue as i am directed to there US tell me pink or blue website for results..

I took the test at 10 weeks and recieved my results yesterday saying I am carrying a BOY....

I was in shock as I have 3 boys and 3 girls and was so sure this one was a girl! My last baby was a boy born in 2007. I wrote asking if this can affect the results and they said no!

Anyway I have just stumbled accross this board and wish I had sooner! Im only 13 weeks pregnant so to wait for my next scan seems like an eternity!

I notice there were alot of false results of boys in 2007...So I am wondering if they have fixed any testing problems in 2008? Or are there many more false results still happening?

Im after anyones recent experience with this company>...................

I also sent an email questioning there results as I have had a baby boy last year and this is the reply i recieved..

Dear Rona, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. To answer your questions, your sample was received in our laboratory on Thursday, October 23. Two separate portions of your blood sample were tested for the presence of fetal Y-chromosomal DNA. Both times we were able to detect significant levels of Y-chromosomal DNA. In addition to this test we also run several control tests on the sample. One of these tests is to look for the presence of contaminating male DNA (Y-chromosomal DNA that is not from your current baby – which would also include any possible remaining DNA from your previous son). We did not detect any significant levels of this contaminating signal. All this data led us to conclude that you are expecting a baby boy.

Eligibility Date for the TMPOB Test - Confused. Help.

Ok, can someone help me figure this out. I took the Pink or Blue test at 9w2d pregnant. I went to the website to calculate my eligibility date and they told me since my LMP was 7/25/09 I could take the test 9/26/09. Hello?! 9/26/09 is 9 weeks pregnant! I took the test 9/28/09. Here is what they say on their website: "Pink or Blue® will share this exciting news with you as early as 10 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period... which is 7 weeks post-conception." Ok, so 10 weeks pregnant is 8 weeks post - conception, right?! I'm so confused. I was 7 weeks post-conception but I was only 9 weeks pregnant so can I trust the results? They were the ones that gave me my eligibility date but they clearly say you should be 10 weeks pregnant but the date they gave me was 9 weeks pregnant. I'm calling them on Monday to try to figure this out. I got a GIRL result and I'm not sure I can trust it. We want a boy so badly so maybe I'm just looking for any reason not to trust the test. Have most of you waited until 10 weeks to take the test?

I received a result last week. I am fairly certain that another child, by any means, is not in my future. I think I will run out of patience!! However, this result has helped me deal with my GD much earlier. I was so depressed and upset, but now after a week of crying and M&M eating, I feel prepared to welcome this baby whether baby is the princess I've always wanted or another boy to add to the clan. I'm still hoping that the test was wrong for me ... but I feel emotionally prepared now for either result. At least TMPOB gave me that.

I took the test at the ultrasound place. 10 days later they said girl. Ultrasound confirmed a girl.

I have three sons & am pregnant with number 4. Needless to say I'm desperate for a girl, I bought the TMPOB test & took it at 10 weeks after LMP. The result came back with BOY!

Then 2 days ago, at 16 weeks, I went for a private sexing u/s and it showed girl. So they were wrong! Before I even got my TMPOB result, I felt really sceptical about the whole thing. I really don't think they have the accuracy rates that they claim to have, I think the entire thing is a con to be honest. Even if they guessed everyone's result, they have a 50/50 chance of being right, and therefore make a huge profit in 50% of cases without really having to do anything.

Here is a photo from my u/s, which I think is pretty accurate - the sonographer spent ages looking to make sure it definitely was a girl. I am really pleased it was a girl, and now I get to claim my money back from the TMPOB so I haven't lost out thankfully.

Hey guys, I have a question. I have read numerous posts about wrong TMPOB results on this website. However, most of the wrong results were posted in 2007. I purchased the test last month, before I found this website and it said I am having a boy. I called them and told them that I had seen so many websites complaining about their inaccuracy, and they assured me that they had fixed the problem that they had in 2007. But they still claim the same 95% success rate. So, I am confused. I won't have an U/S confirmation for a few weeks. I already have a son, and I have read the DNA stays in your system. I asked them about this theory and they said that it is two different size "strands" of DNA and they have equipment now to differentiate between the two. Do you think they really "fixed" the problem. Anyone know of false results recently??? Anyways, any thoughts are greatly appreciated. I feel like I just wasted my money!

I am currently expecting baby #3 in October. TMPOB told me it was a boy at 9 weeks. Ultrasound showed boy last week. This is my second time taking the test, I took it in 2006 at 6-7 weeks with my daugter who was born in July of 2007. With all the negative stuff Ive been reading about the test I was a little hesitant to believe the results this time, but the picture looked like a boy to me!

Boy result after progesterone...Intelligender

I was just wondering if anyone got a boy result after the 10 day progesterone wait to test. I was on high doses of prometrium (200mg vag, twice daily) and waited 11 days after I stopped taking it at 16 weeks to test with Intelligender. Looking at the result it is orangy on top and the "sludge" that is left on the bottom is greenish. I know there isn't a lot of validity in the whole testing, but I thought it would be fun to see what it would say. I think it caused more stress and uncertainty than anything!

I would be very thankful for any information or experience you have to share!

I just received my POB test results today, and it says, "It's a boy"! I only found this site after the fact.. so now i'm disturbed with all the wrong results. The reason I question the results is because a week ago (mind you i'm only 13 weeks) I had a woman who specializes in gender sonograms tell me to start thinking pink. I mean I didn't even ask her to tell me.. my own Dr. asked her if she could tell what the sex of my baby is.... so i was amazed she seemed so confident telling me so early. She says she's been doing this for 20 years. So here I have a Dr. telling me at 12 weeks i'm having a girl, and POB telling me i'm having a boy? I now wish I never took this stupid test. Trust me... I would be happy with either one, but I guess I had my heart set on a little girl.... This is my first pregnancy to.. so there isn't old "baby boy" dna floating around inside me :) Do you think I should still have hopes that it could be a baby girl?

Intelligender test...anyone tried it?

Hi, I bought the Intelligender test and did it at 9 weeks....was supposed to wait til 10 weeks but i couldn't resist!...The result was GIRL....YEY!!! The test works by using your early morning urine to detect any male dna in it. You have to be very careful not to contaminate the sample and you have to abstain from contact with your partner for at least 48 hours before. I was over the moon with the result but am obviously scared of building my hopes up.

I wondered if anyone else has tried the test and if anyone has done it before the 10 weeks point...although it does say it can predict from 8 weeks on some sites.

Is a 'girl' result ever wrong?

I took the test at 10 1/2 weeks and again at 15 weeks (they sent me a free test because I question whether I took it too early). Both said 'girl'. I know it can easily be contaminated and give a false boy result but I don't hear of too many false girls. Am I wrong?

I already have a wonderful daughter and am REALLY hoping for a boy, but TMPOB gave me a "girl" result. Has anyone else had innaccurate girl results? I see mostly wrong boy results.

I recently done a TMPOB test and came back as a BOY result (my first pregnancy). i sent an email asking how accurate and they reasured me there's no contamination detected so should be >95%.

my ultrasound predicted a girl. TMPOB sent me a retest and this time come back as a GIRL.

they gave me the standard excuses why the first time was wrong and refunded me straight way.

they are not reliable at all and i definately wont waste my time or money again next time.

European reseller TMPOB stops reselling, they say it's not reliable

I've been reading all the posts about false gender predictions by Tell my Pink or Blue. I've asked an European reseller what their experience was and they told me they don't sell it anymore because it's not reliable.

Hi all, I have been on here for awhile now, but never posted. I knew I should not have taken this test. I took it at 10 weeks and got the results back saying GIRL. We already have a DD and were sooooo hoping for a boy this time. I feel horrible and am already trying to prep myself for our u/s and the GIRL news. The minute we found out we were preg the RUDE gender comments started and the pressure to have a son.

Anyway - Intelligender (no more reliable) says BOY.... but TMPOB came back GIRL.

Anyone get a GIRL result and it was WRONG??? Seems most people on here got incorrect boy results. Just curious. Thanks!

I live i France, and i only found out about this website after i had paid for tellmepinkorblue. The result said a boy , and i am 100% (i've had 5 ultrasound) that my baby is a girl. Which is great because that's what i wanted! But don't waste your money, of course it's one chance on 2 for them. And then a lot of parents won't ask for refound after the busy time afterbirth. So it's an easy way for thm to make money. I regret to have wasted it like that!

I've seen so many negative posts about this test and I wanted to share my experience. I took it at 10 weeks and it said girl. After reading all the skepticism I called them and they shipped out another one free of charge. At 15 weeks, it still said girl. I've since had my 16 week u/s- said girl, and my 20 weeks u/s- again girl! I can't believe it but I'm actually having a girl!!!!!!! My DH is a physician and I'm an Immunochemist that has worked in a lab for over 15 years. The methodology is possible and valid. Every lab result has the potential to be incorrect. Human error will always be a factor. I hope more people post their correct results so there isn't a bias. Good luck to everyone- may all your gender dreams come true!

I've read so many of your messages and much of what everyone says resonates with me. I just did the POB at 13 weeks and it came back telling me i'm having a boy. I am so depressed and disappointed as I already have a little angel of a boy but now wanted a girl. I only want two children and I have been praying do hard for a girl. I am starting to wonder if the test was maybe wrong and if the whole thing is a hoax. So many people seem to have gotten the wrong results, especially when they had a boy before. My son is 21 months and I wonder if they picked up on his DNA although they assured me that "adult" and "toddler" DNA is longer than that of a fetus. Could all this be BS? My doctor checked the website and has no clue who these people are and said they do not describe on their site what methods they use to come to their conclusions. I have my 18 week sonogram on sept 30 and i am hoping for a miracle.....
