I have sent an email two days ago at the IVF Genetics Centre but still no answers from them. Saira have you decided which one are you going to use? I am most definetely going to Farah, I can't wait!

I came home this morning and found an email from the IVF Genetics Centre in my inbox! this is what they said:

Hi Luci,

I sent an e-mail to IVF Genetics Centre about Microsort this is thier reply

Microsort is not 100% for Gender Selection, it is a process used to sort sperm. It is app 60% for Boys and 70% for Girls ( it varies clinic to clinic). It is a patented process available in the USA, Argentina, Mexico and Brussels only as far as I know.

 PGD is a process performed on the formed embryos, therefore PGD is 100% for the preferred sex and this is what the quote is for from Jordan.

The Jordan clinic does have a partner clinic in the UK that you can coordinate with: Lister Hospital on Chelsea Bridge, London, England.They will be able to provide you with their costs/charges.

They can also advise you on the removal of the coil. The clinic requires Hormone tests done on day 2 of your cycle and a scan. Your Husband will require a semen analysis and both of you will need to have the basic contagious disease blood tests.

Once the Doctor has these results, you can proceed with your next cycle. If you start meds in the UK, you will only be required to be at the clinic for app 7 days ( app on day 11/12 of your cycle). If you start meds in Jordan, then you will stay 21 days from Day 2 of your cycle.

Hey again, i have pretty much decided on the Farah too. I like their success rates! Yes i am aware they dont do microsort, as far as i was aware microsort isnt offered outside the US? I may be wrong.

Hi Mimosa75 you are doing a great job on this thread. I have read though alot of this and it is very helpful and Informative thread. After doing somre research I too am persuaded towards Farah clinic. Although I am just at early stages of research so I havent emailed anyone yet. Would like to know what stage are you at now, have anyone got any more prices of accomodation and travel cost of Jordan? Did you find out if anyone can do the tests her in the Uk I am in Cardiff. Has anyone taken thier children with them as 20 days is a long time.

 I am really enjoying this forum well done to everyone

Hi Mimosa75 you are doing a great job on this thread.

You are welcome! I live in Pembrokeshire and I am afraid I couldn't find anyone to the monitoring. I have checked Swansea and Cardiff but after a watchdog programme last year into PGD it's very hard to find anyone who is willing to help, also it makes the costs very high.

I can only go during the summer due to my work and kids holidays. I am a tutor so I am off for 2 months in the summer and my kids are with my ex husband for 3 weeks in the summer so that works out well for me. At the moment DP and I have set summer 2011 as our date to go but might be going next summer if we are REALLY desperate which I am!

As for the costs, it's a bit too early to check flights costs. For the accomodation it all depends if you are staying in an hotel or rent an appartment for the 3 weeks, if so check this website for an idea of costs http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/jor/housingavailable/

I would love that! but DP really thinks that next summer is too early for us and I can't help but to agree, I know that deep down it will make sense to wait, I am just so broody at the moment, thank guinness I have a coil!!!
