I really don't think it is possible to find tahini that doesn't have garlic in in Aus - anyone had any luck

Are you getting tahini or hummus? I've never heard of tahini having garlic in it but hummus nearly always does. Tahini is an ingredient in hummus.

No definitely tahini. I kinda figured that for the amount of garlic in it, and the amount that you spread on a piece of bread, the garlic would be minimal

Ok, I thought maybe they called hummus "tahini spread" in Aus. or something like that.  I hope that didn't offend you, I'm sure you are quite capable of reading labels on foods!!!

Anyway, garlic is pretty strong stuff, a little goes a long way, and I just think you're better off staying away from it altogether.

well, after scouring the shelves of health food shops - I found some without garlic, i'm sure the garlic was the thing that made it taste nice though!!!!!

I'm sure it is because the stuff I bought basically has no flavor.  I was really excited about it too because I really like sesame.  I also think sesame oil has yummy flavor but the tahini, not so much Sad.
