Melissa,

I think getting the local media involved is a great idea.  I have also sent you a pm.

Good luck,

Melissa, Since you would like to do a car wash too have you asked your city about using a local park?  Our big park here has a huge pavillion that has electric and big bbq grills.  You could do a hotdog cookout or chili.  Plus that have hydrants for a car wash.

Where are you located?  If you are not too far, I would be happy to help. I am a good baker, and my baked goods sell well at fundraising events.

let me know

Awwww ..... Like I said before... " I don't know what I would do without you girls."  I finally have a place set in stone.  We are doing it in Spring, TX at a Super Walmart.  We are going to serve BBQ sandwich, sausage on a stick, Chips, Nachos, and drinks.  My friend and I are going to be going to places tomorrow looking for donations for food...etc.  I'll let you all know how it goes.  Also, I have an apt. with a local christian station asking if they will advertise over the radio.  I think we may do another breakfast fundraiser when we get back from the surgery.  It is going to be where my dad lives (about 2 1/2 hours away.  Close to San Anotonio)  I will let you girls know what comes from tomorrow (trying to raise money for the food)

Love you girls!

Melissa,

I'm so glad you were able to get some things in order. I'm sure people won't be able to help being generous once they know your story. Good luck as you keep going with this!Good Luck CloverHeart

I thought of another idea for you.  Have a yard sale.  Get all your family and friends to donate stuff to sell and all the proceeds can go toward your daughters bills.  Plus you can set out a sign and container for people who just want to donate.  At the garage sell you can even do a bake sale and a drink stand.

You may try calling companies directly for food donations. For example calling the Johnsville company to see if they would donate the sausages.  Giving company a promise that you will put out a sign for their company stating that such and such was donated by them sometimes helps a bunch.  Plus the signs are easy to make all you need is poster board and a marker.

If you are doing a car wash too you may contact a local girl scout chapter to see if they would be willing to donate their time to wash cars.  Most chapters will donate time becaue it helps the girls earn their badges.

You could also try a doggie wash.  All you have to have is plastic pools, soap and water.

You could also contact local flower nurseries and see if they would donate Violet plants.  You could do a "Violets for Violet" campaign.  Selling the violets to consumers that stop at your fundraiser.

Hope your fundraiser is a gigantic success!!

The yard sale is a good idea.  My IL's church does a yard sale every year and I save up everything to donate to it.  They make quite a bit of money at it, apparently.

Not sure if anyone else said this or not already-- but I think ebay does some fundraising or can coordiate with other sites to to like an on-line auction of stuff and then all of us could participate?   I know my sons preschool did this with a site they coorinated with ebay to do the listing.   TJ

They do, but it looks to me like you have to be registered as a nonprofit organization.
