little girl/baby earrings ????

So, I got my DD ears pierced today. I wasn't super gung ho about the idea, but my pedi and her partner pedi do it together in her office, and convinced me this was the right time to do it. So, now it's done. The starter earrings are huge gold balls, really ugly on her little ears. They said I could change them in about 4 weeks. We are thinking about getting some little diamond chip earrings in white gold from our jeweler. My question is about the earring backs. Is there something special out there that babies/toddlers use for the backs of their earrings when they are not longer using the starter set. Something secure and safe???

my first pair of diamonds (TINY) when I was about 7 have these teeny tiny back that come off very easily.  Granted, they weren't meant for a child, and it's was more than 20 years ago.  I think jewelers carry more things for babies/children these days that would have safety backs.  You'll want to try to get backs that screw on if possible.  That seems like the safest way to go.  GL!  I cannot wait to get little baby earrings for my DD!!! 

 i have 4 girls and got all there ears peirced before 4 months ... i always liked the screw backs  there secure and dont fall of .... there safe and you wont loose them

Yes, make sure you get earrings with the screw on backs. Here is a site I've ordered from and love them. I've bought the pink butterflies (39.99), they come in 2 sizes. I bought the small ones for my DD and the larger ones for my niece (she has larger ear lobes for a toddler). I know Piercing Pagoda (in my local malls) sells children's/baby jewelry also and used them.

Ok so when did everyones drs say that they could peirce their daughters ears at?

My dr says not till 6mths I want to do them NOW I really cannot wait but so afraid that if I dont the dr will say something (she doesnt do them I have to go somewhere to get them done)

My doctor would NOT do it until after 6 month shots.   They (her and her office pedi partner) did it together.   This is just me, but I didn't feel comfortable taking her anywhere else at this age.  IF the doctor's office didn't do it, then she would have to wait until she was older.
