I don't keep them organised as such.  I have a pretty little box in my downstairs bathroom with all hats, scarves and gloves in.  The gloves I just fold into each other so they're paired and basically if the kids want or need them they have to go digging for a matching set...  It's not organised as such, but it is all in one place, tidy and out the way and there are always pairs of gloves available.

    My family is finally complete!

    I LOVE to organise!!!

I have a (cheap) plastic set of 3 drawers in my hall. Hats go in the top, scarves in the middle and gloves wrapped inside themselves at the bottom like so....

I'm not the most organized person, but I actually have done a pretty good job with this one! We have a fabric children's shoe organizer hanging on the back of the door from the laundry room to the garage. We keep some mittens, hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and dog collars in this. This we have a 15-pair shoe organizer (photo below) in the laundry room that holds more mittens/gloves and hats in the top row and then shoes go in the rest of it. The shoe organizer is by Organize It and I got it at Target. We also have a storage bench in the laundry room with coat hooks at the top (this is where we hang up our coats when we come in the house), and we keep things like snowpants and out-of-season coats/hats/gloves in the bench part.

Now my problem is that I have sent three pairs of gloves to school with R this week, and only one has come back!

This is similar to our storage bench/coat rack, although ours is white with a solid back. (I couldn't find ours on the Target website anymore.)

We also have this hanging above our coat rack bench, and we keep adult gloves, hats, and accessories up there and save the lower spaces for the kids' stuff. This is from Ikea and is called Hensvik.

We have this LLBean painted cottage locker.  Hats & gloves go in the bin up top, coats, boots, & umbrellas below.  I added extra hooks since it only came with one hook per cubby.

Re: A way to keep hats and mitts organized?

I have a cheap-o solution!! Do you have a small closet with a hanging bar downstairs? I bought one of those hanging shoe organizers..You know, the kind where you put a pair of shoes in the pocket and then hang them all up so they don't take up floor space...Well I use those for the hat/mitt sets. Each of the 3 kids has at least 2-3 different sets of hats and gloves/scarves so they each get a few pockets to keep their sets in! Each row has 2 large pockets so each family member has a row or two. It has pockets on both the front and back. I use one side of kids stuff and the other side for ours. It works FANTASTIC! It is such a timesaver and it keeps all the mittens from getting lost!
