Wow I found out some more information today...............I'll cut and paste the email and see if anyone can shed some light? They have answered my questions in green.......the bit that really confuses me is that I have 3 boys and 3 girls already....My youngest is a boy and only 16 months old and they are saying i have no male dna what so ever in my blood from any previous pregnany the same as a woman who has never been pregnant?????????????? Only male dna detected from the baby I am now carrying!
oh and I bought this test from nimble diagnostics in sydney and had no idea it was part of pink or blue and would be sent to america for testing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Rona, Please see my response below in green. -Anna
hello,
Sorry but you dont seem to have answered my question of what levels of my previous sons dna was found in my test...???????? Can you perhaps send me a copy of the report done by the actual lab technician please? Although it is possible for DNA from previous male pregnancies to remain in the mother’s body after birth, this occurrence is extremely rare. In your case, we do not believe there is DNA from your previous sons in your blood. To give you a little bit of perspective on this issue, about 5% of all samples we receive are found to be contaminated. From these numerous samples, we have established cutoffs which we consider indicate strong contamination. There are also some samples where the amount of contamination detected is not very strong but on the “borderline” and in these cases, we ask these customers for a new test as well because we are not confident releasing a result to them. In your case, the amount of non-fetal male DNA detected was absolutely insignificant which means it was the same as a background sample (a sample from a female who is not pregnant and has never had a male pregnancy). The only official report we have is the final result (the email you received).
Also I fail to understand WHERE my test was sitting all this time? PLEASE REFER TO CUT AND PATSTE ....Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. To answer your questions, your sample was received in our laboratory on Thursday, October 23......This response was sent to me when i questioned why my test was left sitting for a few weeks?? I sent them via express post to you and at latest they should have arrived on the 10th of October....So for almost 2 weeks prior to testing please inform me where were they? When you sent your sample back, did you send it directly to our laboratory in California, USA, or did you send it to Nimble Diagnostics? Given the time delay you experienced, I believe you sent your sample to Nimble and they had to forward it to our laboratory. If you did send it directly to our laboratory, did you use a courier or standard post? Standard international post can take up to 10 business days.
Also please inform what location was the lab they were tested in? The Consumer Genetics laboratory is located in Sunnyvale, California, USA.
perhaps my questions will be best discussed via phone, please provide me with a contact number... We would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have over the phone. Our phone number is 1-408-734-2229. We are open 9am to 6pm PST. We can also call you if you provide us with your phone number and a good time to call (that is between 9am and 6pm). Due to the time difference, we do not want to call you without your permission as it may be late at this time.
