Micah Donovan is here

My son, Micah was born on Friday at Our local hospital, he seemed to be perfect and well.
My water broke at 430pm on Friday. I did around the houseand got the kids to the sitter. I got to the ER about 7pm, and was dialted at 3cm and was 80% effaced. As of about 1am, nothing had changed, so the chose to do the Pitocin, and I got my epi around 4am. It really got things going! The epi was great!
When I got to about 8cm, I had gotten wilggled down in the bed at the foot, so they came in a pulled me up. Unfortunately, my epi needle was pulled out. Within 20 minutes, I was in immense pain and could not believe it! Even though I had had 3 other kids, I had not ever had med-free childbirth. It really, really hurt! There was just no time to redo the epi.
About 3 hours later, I got to 10cm, and it was time to push. Wow, that was painful, but I swear the pain was quick, and as soon as his shoulders came out, the pain was gone. I did not even hardly have to pushout the placenta.
He was 6 pounds 15 ozs, and perfect!

But Saturday morning, a Ped. urologist came in for his circ. and told us he was in distress with his testicles, that they both were twisted. He was immediately sent to Levine children's hospital. He underwent emergency surgery early Sat .morning. They removed his left testicle and operated on the right. When waking up from the anesthesia, he went into a seizure and had to be intubated.
I aint going to lie, this has been the scariest days of my life.

But he has improved greatly, and he will get to come from the NICU this afternoon. This is the first time I have been home, but I had to come home and get ready. Plus, I have been wearing the clothes my water broke in at Gaston..lol So my husband is at Levine right now watching videos on testicle care.
And bringing him home!!!!!!! And we have alot of Dr. appts ahead of us. Unfortunately, he has to see a hormone specialist next week, as he won't make any male hormones and will have to take them forever.The other testes, is mainly "decoration".
Our co-pays are $40 a piece(even though we met our yearly deduct able at the hospital). He has 11 appts. next week.

Oh my goodness, the poor little mite. You must have all been so worried about him. He looks so precious.

Oh you poor thing.  I am praying for you all and he is just BEAUTIFUL!

 He's beautiful-congratulations! Gosh, that was awful about his testicles and all. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery.

What a scary situation for your little guy!!!  I've never heard of that, I bet you all were terrified!  I'm sorry you all, especially poor baby boy, had to go through that.

Does this mean he won't be able to have his own children either?  Poor thing!! 

Goodness, I'm just glad that he's doing better and they caught it and were able to fix it before something more serious happened.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! My son Benjamin was born with a torsion of his left testicle, and he also needed to be transfered to a hospital with a NICU to have surgery right away. We were lucky in that only one testicle was twisted, so they removed the left one and tracked down the right one. I can totally understand how scary it was for you...it was even worse since your little one had a seizure. Poor little guy. I'm glad to hear he is doing better now. My Benny is now a very healthy, active 19 month old!

Congratulations on the arrival of wee Micah!  He looks so precious and adorable.  I'm so sorry for all that he has had to endure since he was born and wish him a speedy recovery (you too!).  I also hope your DH is doing well - you've certainly got a lot on your plate!  All the best to you and your family. 

You have been through so much with your husband and now your new little darling. I hope your DH is doing great, and am so glad to be among the first to welcome Micah (such a gorgeous name) to the world. I'm glad he's ok!  Enjoy every minute, and congratulations.

Poor little guy, prayers are headed your way.  Good job dealing with a "broken" epi, that's quite an accomplishment in my opinion.

Your Micah is one of the most beautiful newborns I've ever seen!  What an ordeal you and he have been through.  I hope recovery goes well for the both of you!
