2nd BGM test says...

GUESS WHAT???!!!  It's now a GIRL!!  Oops, they say.

I know, I know, I've been like the only one posting in this forum for the past few days, but this has really gotten inside my head, so I will try to make this one of my last posts, as not to annoy you all.  Just shocked, again!!  How can they change their minds??  I was offered no explanation, just that they were wrong and sending me $550 in 7-10 business days (we'll see...I might have to post again and let you know if anyone is interested).  Here is what my SECOND BGM test said, taken last Wed, 10/12/05 when I was 20 weeks, results received today, 10/17/05:

No I'm sorry we were wrong, nothing.  And of course, customer service-guy (same one) says oops, we'll refund (after putting me on "hold" i.e. cupping his hand over the phone and talking to someone 3 times to ask what to do for me).

Unbelievable!  Well, guess that's another confirmation (yet unreliable in my eyes) that my girl is a girl and never was a boy!!

Leila, well, congratulations again on your girl, LOL!  I think that is the best possible news, now your test and your u/s match so there is no worrying over something being wrong. 

And P.S. it's not like you're using up all the computer bits or anything, you can post all you like. ;-) 

Leila, don't go!!!  You and everyone here have been so great to lean on and vent to.  I don't know what I'd have done without the understanding and support I've found here.

Did they send you the second kit and do the retest for free?  I hope you get your money soon - keep us posted.

Thanks for posting what they sent you.  It just proves how lousy their customer service is.  After what they've put you through you deserve an apology from the heartless (people).

Are you going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau?  Have you sent this to Sherry? 

Yeah I agree... LEILA DONT GO! Everyone likes you here. You are such a strong fun woman and we would all hate to see you go. Im sure after everyone sticking through this together,how could you leave now? And not to mention, I am sure everyone is so curious of what these "opposite gender babies"(as acugen claims) are gonna look like. Mine is a boy...and I cant wait to meet him and greet all of you with his pictures. Please stay. We love you here :-) Summer

Wow!  You guys are too sweet! I just assumed I was getting on everyone's nerves, because I look at the replies and see 'leilawill, leilawill, leilawill' and feel like some kind of stalker freak or something!  I have found so much support and love here...I check it every hour!  I will continue to post if you guys promise to tell me when I'm getting annoying ;)) ha ha

All my friends/family have not been afraid to tell me that I'm getting a little carried away with this.  But you all understand how consuming it is and how emotionally tramatic it is!  So thanks again for everything ;)  I hope you all find as much peace as I have been through talking with others like me/us :))  I will keep in touch b/c I want to hear how things are going with you all too.

I'm going to start writing everything in pink to train myself to switch from boy mentality to girl.  It's been an adjustment.  It's only been a week since my 1st ultrasound shock and wrong BGM discovery.

Yes, they sent the 2nd BGM test free.  My husband didn't want me to do it b/c he thought if they did, they would use it as an excuse not to give me money if they were wrong.  But guess they are not doing that.  But until I have that check in my hand...

I am going to file a complaint with the BBB.  And calling my local news, and did the interview with the St. Louis Dispatch guy, and emailed Today Show.  I wish the FDA would do something about this too.

And I did email Sherry.  Funny, I was telling heaveanslilkisses, she (Sherry) was so quick to respond to all of my emails, even saying she wanted me to keep her posted with my results (you read that in my letters to her I posted).  I emailed her this morning...no response!!! 

I watched the link on her website to the Today Show story again today.  I forgot what she looked like.  Putting a face to the name was strange for me. 

Negative comments witholding...they're...slipping...so close...gotta go, Maureen...I could really explode!  hee hee

That is AWESOME!! I too had a BOY result with BGM and I have had 2 ultrasounds and both show clearly a GIRL! I was having the same problem as you and have been doubting myself. Your husband is pretty smart to think that they would try to not give your refund if you took the test again. That just infuriates me that they changed your result and are now saying there was no X chromosome detected. WELL WAS THERE OR NOT! I am just so annoyed by the whole thing. I don't so much care about the money, it's just my whole experience of having my first child has been completely ruined. I have been embarrassed to talk about it to anyone and alot of people still think I am going to have a BOY and I am crazy.  I have decided that if I never would have taken the test I would have thought it was a GIRL after the first sonogram, so I need to proceed as if I never got those results. So my husband and I bought the paint and bedding for our little girl's nursery and are going to Babies R Us on Wed to buy her mattress for the crib. I feel so much better knowing they changed your results to a GIRL after all..  They probably would not have done it if you had not been so vocal about their shoddy product, doing interviews and emailing Sherry every chance you got.  I will just send my baby's birth certificate in when she is born in Feb and they BETTER give me my money back as promised, or all hell is going to break loose.  But I agree with everyone when we say that your posts have really helped us and kept our spirits up. What a nightmare we have all endured!

That is great news-Shady that they now change their minds, but great news for you!  I am so happy for you to have everything match and be in line- now you can plan, decorate and buy pink like it was your job!  I aj also glad to see that you will be getting your refund!

I contacted Acu-Gen today about my conflicting results and if it would be possible to get my refund of $550. They said they would issue a refund within 5 business days. My case is similar to Leila's- however, I was told girl and on the retest they said boy.  

Mandy-Good for you!  You go girl!  I am so glad you called them back.  Let us know if/when you get the check.  I, personally, am going to make a big fat copy of it!

I am so glad to see that you are going to stay. Of course you are not annoying lol. Trust me you are in a board with angry pregnant mothers and you know how opinionated we can be...so trust me if you annoy us, I am sure someone would say something ,lol. Anyways but no hun you are great and welcome here just as mucha s everyone else. We all love you here and I love this bored. So many fun and exciting people going through the same thing so its one giant support group and I like it. As far as your girl,good luck with that. I wanted a girl and thats what bgm told me I was having. Then to find out 3 different ways confirming it is a BOY not a girl. I am happy though because a baby is a baby and hes healthy and thats all that matters right? I cant wait. I have just 2 months or so to go and hes here. I have been doing so much shopping and thanks to big mouth family members,lol,I got wind that I am having a baby shower soon sometime within next month lol. I know I am having one but dont know When and Where and What time, ya know? or who is going to be there, but I think now since I know I am getting one that I am going to hold off on buying more stuff until after the shower...that way I can see what I get, and what I dont get then I go buy.lol...Anwyays good luck to you and everyone else.
