Jamie Oliver Swaying?!
|
|
I tuned in as Jamie Oliver [UK TV Chef] was being interviewed by Jonathan Ross, he was being asked about his wife's latest pregnancy, at first Jamie said he wasn't too bothered about the sex [He's got 2 DD] 'as long as its healthy' but then he went onto say that he'd been wearing chilled pants [Underwear in USA!] because that's meant to help you get a boy. At first I thought he was joking, as I've never heard of chilled underwear-! but he went on to ask Jonathan if he'd done anything special to get his DS.
It was kindve nice to hear something like that on TV; like a little bit of my secret, taboo GD-world was being recognised in the 'real world' I hope he finds this site for helpful swaying tips - Maybe he already has?

Yep, sounds like Jamie has done some serious swaying there. Chilled pants doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, though. Especially now that the weather has cooled off. I do hope he gets his DS.

Good luck to Jamie, he was quite brave making "swaying" comments on TV as many people DO NOT approve of such things. I always laugh at the "meddling with nature/gods will/fate/destiny" argument - follow that argument to it's logical conclusion, and every lifesaving medical procedure is doing just that. But I have kept quiet about GD and our attemps to "sway" because I'm not keen on stirring up people and dealing with their disaproval.

I heard this about Jamie Olivier too!
The wife (cant rem her name but is is an unusal one) said that she wants a son for her husbands
sake...yet another woman who would just be fine to stay an all-girl mum like my sister

The late crocodile hunter Steve Erwin (R.I.P) admitted to swaying when his wife was PG with No 2 and they ended up with a boy after there daughter (thats what he swayed for) is'nt it so refreshing to hear people talk about it openly?

It is refreshing, it's like a piece of my everyday normality has unexpectedly got into the 'real world' I didn't know that about Steve Erwin but I had wondered if he'd been wanting a DS because he was such a blokey bloke himself.
I watched Jamie Oliver's latest show, where he's trying to encourage healthy eating in the UK, poor man, & I had to switch it off as there was an obese woman [who wouldn't even have known she was pregnant if it wern't for Jamie being concerned about her inner-organs -She ate 70 bags of crisps a week - so she'd gone for an internal scan. This episode she found out she was having a boy & said she was really happy & that they'd been praying 'all day' - I prayed for fkin months while swaying & didnt get 1 Maybe I shoulve eaten more crisps Its good she got what she wanted but why not me?!
GD affects all my thoughts these days - watching yet more TV, about a Polish builder, it mentioned that he'd got 7 brothers & immediately I start wondering if his mum had GD & was trying to get a DD?! I see things so differently now, before GD I'dve just thought she wanted a big family or maybe was Catholic/ didn't have contraception. Now everything has to do with GD, in my head.

HI Blue sky, 70 bags of crisps a week and plenty of other salty crap! No wonder that woman had a boy. I'm ttc a girl and you are supposed to avoid salt for that, so presumably high salt is good for TTC boys? If it doesn't kill you.
Sorry you are feeling so much GD, I know it's so difficult when you get all those why me? Why not me? Question, and there are no good answers.

I did try to over-do it on the salt when I was swaying & DH joked about how many packs of crisps I ate, but 10 a day is mad! Still, if it'd work... lshaw:I know it's so difficult when you get all those why me? Why not me? Question, and there are no good answers.
It is difficult, GD is crazy & I get so irrationally jealous everwhere I go or whatevers on TV, even cartoons! I'm hoping it'll calm down once the pregnancy hormones are out've my system but maybe not!

Hi Bluesky, I know what you mean, though I'm looking at it from the other direction - it's all boys I have. I know when I had my second, I didn't mind so much, but with the third it was full GD, and I'm glad I knew he was a boy from the 20wk scan - I had time to get over it. Mind you, I'd never be without any of them, I just want my girl too.

Does it seem to anyone else like Jaimie Oliver is a really hands-off dad? I love his shows, but it just always seems like he is working on a new show or restaurant and doesn't give much time to his family. There are times my DH is really hands-off and that's when I'm glad I have all girls

Hands off dads - too many of them are hands off! Probably not to fair to slag off Jamie for working too much (hard to judge that from tv appearences and I'm sure he has flunkies to do most of the work........), but too many men work such long hours, my DH included, it makes it kind of hard for them.

Just chiming in the discussion about JO*s family -
I did read an interview with his wife (is it Pops or some thing she is called??) -
anyways, she said that she loved to be the one who takes care of the family and
wants to be the "supportive" spouse that is in the background. Maybe she is telling
the truth? I actually like it too, that DH does not intervene in everything...

I think its brilliant as Jamie would say, that he feels confident enough to talk about his desire for a ds, I so hope he gets his wish!
Oh, and my Mum worked at the same hospital where Terry Irwin gave birth to both kids.... and here's the clincher, she was back the month before Steve died, checking out the birthing units..... hmmmmm

Isn't the other DD called 'Daisy Boo'?! Not the best name if she wants to be taken seriously as a lawyer or pharmacist - 1 of those professions where you have your name on a wall certificate - when she grows up?
