TMPOB Results
|
|
Hey guys, I have a question. I have read numerous posts about wrong TMPOB results on this website. However, most of the wrong results were posted in 2007. I purchased the test last month, before I found this website and it said I am having a boy. I called them and told them that I had seen so many websites complaining about their inaccuracy, and they assured me that they had fixed the problem that they had in 2007. But they still claim the same 95% success rate. So, I am confused. I won't have an U/S confirmation for a few weeks. I already have a son, and I have read the DNA stays in your system. I asked them about this theory and they said that it is two different size "strands" of DNA and they have equipment now to differentiate between the two. Do you think they really "fixed" the problem. Anyone know of false results recently??? Anyways, any thoughts are greatly appreciated. I feel like I just wasted my money!

I know that they had a lot of wrong result is 2007, I believe most were false girl results. Something about the reactant not being strong enough or something to pick up boy dna. So a lot of women were told girls who really were carrying boys. However, there were alot of people who were told boy the same time as me, (septemberish 2007) and had girls. I wish there was some way to see statistics. But I have noticed that the accuracy they claim hasn't changed even though clearly they made many many mistakes. I've been seeing a lot of correct results lately, and have always though that they were lucky guesses. We need people to continue to post resutls on this site to determine if they are getting more accurate or not, problem is ONLY some people come here, so our statistics wouldn't be 100%. You would think that they would have to get better at it, but if you have seen any of my posts, I'm not a believer. What were you hoping for? I would have a hard time believing that they got it correctly with you, I heard the same stuff when I questioned my boy result, they assured me that everything was correct and nothing was contaminated, well...I guess they were wrong.

I would love a baby girl, so we'll see! The whole thing is such a waste either way bc you are going to question their result. So whats the point! They were so convincing it is almost scary. Telling me that there was NO way they could have detected Y unless I was having a boy. They said there was no contamination and it didn't matter that I already had a boy. But you know anything that is not regulated by the FDA, can make any claim they want and it is not checked up on. I am curious to see if anyone has recently received inaccurate results, since they said that they have "updated" things. Although their accuracy rate has never changed, still at 95% according to them!

When's your next ultrasound?

In 3 weeks is the official one, but i have a friend that works in a doctors office so I may go early next week, I will be 14 weeks then. I know that is early, but I found out at 15 weeks with my first son. Very obvious! I am very anxious to know if TMPOB is right, I am starting to think if they are it is only a lucky guess. I don't think they have the funding to have that expensive equipment and to keep the technology updated! I will keep you posted. I have seen some early 2008 TMPOB results that were wrong posted on here

Good! I think you should go early and see if you can put this behind you. I agree it would be very expensive to really be 95% accurate. We will be here to support you along the way. YOu did happen to get a nub shot at a previous ultrasound did you?

Thanks girl, I really appreciate it! The last ultrasound I had was at 12 weeks and there were several clear shots between the legs, and nothing was there. No nub or anything. Don't know what that means, something could form for sure, that was really early. Do they usually have nubs then?

I researched like crazy which is how I found this site but I found the majority were incorrect boy results since the boy dna can still be in a mothers blood which led me to come to the conclusion that I would not rely on a boy result but I couldn't see how a girl result would be wrong for me especially after having 3 boys but it was 6 years later. When I took mine they made me re do it since it was contaminated which could be another result of boy false results since if you have a hubby or a son there dna is everywhere but I had a girl result and had a girl but I wouldn't rely too much on it still.
